Title: Season 1 Review

Hey guys! I'm going to start working on the next season of Clickwar real soon, but before then I wanted to know what your thoughts were about the first season...what you liked, what you didn't like, and any thoughts on what you'd like to see in the future. :)

Maybe just have it be a little shorter? Might help keep it more dynamic.

Thanks for the game, though. Wasted quite a bit of time on it. :D

I agree that the game kind of stagnated after a month or so, but do you feel that it was too long or that there needed to be more mid-late game content?

I think I've discussed my thoughts on the game quite a bit, but some more thoughts.

This game had a lot of things: plain spamming, bluffing in many different ways, playing chicken, non-zero-sum games (retaliation vs diplomacy), taking advantage of people's schedules and busy lives, being taken advantage of when busy, destroying free time, the usual.

As for the game itself, having the timer count down properly when the page is in the background would be nice. Also if possible, not reloading every time, but that would probably be a significant rewrite.

Also, looks like my script was pretty close

As for suggestions (the main reason I'm making this post lol):
I would love to see a team-based Clickwar, akin to Team Water Balloon Fight versus Spam Points. People could then make and join teams and take tiles for the team.

I'd say a shorter game, maybe a week, with shorter time for clicks would have been an improvement. Also kinda wish there was something else to do while clicking put that's beside the point. Actually, may be a longer click time?

Hmm, what exactly do you mean by mid-late game content?

I dunno, I for one approve of the long game. =P

In all seriousness, a shorter game would work better. Less time to stress within, more activity within the stressing. A team-based version would also be pretty fun.

I actually liked this one because of how long it went, to me the other spam games tend to finish too quickly though I understand why people might like it shorter.

New things that open up in the middle of the game that mix things up. For example, in League of Legends, Baron (https://leagueoflegends.fandom.com/wiki/Baron_Nashor) isn't a factor until the middle of the game because neither team is strong enough to deal with him until that point, but once that point is reached a lot of the remainder of the game is based around either killing him and getting the buffs for doing so or preventing the other team from doing it, because getting those buffs is often instrumental in winning the game.

My feeling is that as the game went on people's leads in tiles became so intimidating that most people weren't willing to invest the time needed to contest them, so the game stagnated. I wasn't really happy with the idea of doing point decay when the game was inactive because I worried it might wipe everyone off the map and make it too easy for a tile to be contested, so my feeling is that the game needs to be mixed up a few weeks into the game.

Ah, I see. Yeah, I think that kind of mechanic could definitely bring back some activity in the mid-late game.
