BraveSirRobin for Delegate!!
If you try to be all things to all people, you're nothing to anybody." —Sen. Harkin
Hello friends! Welcome to the second iteration of the Robin Campaign for the Delegacy of Wintreath! In my first term as delegate, I have accomplished a bit, but not nearly as much as I would like to.
Firstly, I ended up garnering enough endorsements eventually to actually make me delegate eventually, which was actually much harder than anticipated. Additionally, I believe that I have made headway on a few diplomatic fronts, as demonstrated by our alliance with The North Pacific's faction, UPPERCUT, and a non-aggression pact with NATO, during the recent N-day event, which resulted in a smashing success for Wintreath on a strategic and diplomatic level.
But there is far more which I hope to accomplish in the event you, the voters of Wintreath, give me the privilege of serving you for a second term.
IDEAS AND GOALS:
- Increasing Wintreath's Foreign Presence
Lately, Wintreath, though one of the NationStates world's most vibrant communities, has had a rather surprisingly isolationist policy on the global stage, even to the point of the deactivation of the Wintreath Hvitt Riddaral, which I hope to be able to change by increasing the amount of activity on the Wintreath RMB with other regions, as well as perhaps the establishment of Embassies in most major regions in the world. - Strengthening Ties with Allies and Friends
Wintreath has a huge number of friends, especially in the GCRs, and most specifically in TNP and The Rejected Realms. These regions are wonderful and vibrant communities with various incredible people and intriguing government systems which Wintreath can learn and grow from. As delegate, I would attempt to strengthen ties with these and other longtime allies, in order to ensure that Wintreath remains a community with a wide variety of contacts in wider NationStates. - The Establishment of a Democratic WA Proposal System
One thing that has come to my attention as Delegate of Wintreath so far is the fact that we have no established procedure to ensure that the delegate votes with the will of Wintreath in WA. I have attempted to vote FOR or AGAINST propositions based on the number of votes by WA members in Wintreath FOR and AGAINST, but this system seems sloppy, and I believe that it could be bettered by either opening a new (or an old) thread somewhere on the forums for WA resolution debates, or by the institution of a WA Affairs policy to create polls on the NationStates Region Page asking for community imput on the current WA resolutions. - Creating WA Material
I think that Wintreath could create some very good WA resolutions, and that currently we are punching far below our weight diplomatically in NationStates, as especially demonstrated by our capabilities in the recent N-Day event. We are a very competent group, and indeed we could likely expand our influence with relative ease in the event we put our minds to it. - Overhauling Endorsements in Wintreath
I believe that we could learn much from the systems of WA management that have been implemented by the various other regions of the world, especially TNP, which boasts the highest average WA endorsement numbers in the game. More endorsements means more influence gain, and ultimately I hope it would drive increased interest in the WA and foreign affairs among our NationStates populace. - Any Goals and Ideas you might have for Wintreath!
I'm always willing to listen to and incorporate the ideas of the citizenry or individuals who think something might be fun/great for Wintreath. Just shoot me a PM and I'll see what I can do! :D
As always, feel free to bombard me with questions below!! :)
Even if you don't have a question, comments or even a hello are appreciated as well!
Or if you have ideas for the rapidly approaching Z-Day event in late October on how we might use what we learned from the most recent NationStates event, those would be cool too! :D
Very Sincerely and Respectfully,
BraveSirRobin
Delegate of Wintreath
