With the success of the first couple of Steak Frys, and with the Underhusen really needing a bit of a jumpstart, I have decided to host the 4th Robin Steak Fry!  In fact, I may even run this session to spice things up!  As always, candidates, feel free to come discuss your vision for the future of Wintreath, visit with your future constituents, and more—all over some of the finest beef around!  So without further ado:
Good evening candidates, citizens and welcome to the 4th Harkin Robin Steak Fry!  Today we have assembled a plethora of candidates from throughout Wintreath to discuss with you, the citizenry, their view of Wintreath as it stands today, what they want to go forward with in the 21st Underhusen, and what they hope to see Wintreath become in the future.  The questions are as follows:

1. Before we get into the real meat of this event, as always, I want to ask all of you—what make you decide to run for the Underhusen?  What should the main goals of the new, 21st legislature be?

2. As has been shown throughout history, both online and in the real world, a community must grow if it is to survive and prosper.  What do you believe is the best way to catalyse growth and the expansion of Wintreath in NationStates and beyond?  Do you see the Underhusen as being able to legislate in ways that would encourage growth?

3. What do you think is the biggest problem facing Wintreath at this point?

4. Do other NS regions have any programs or operations that you think we could emulate to enrich our community here in Wintreath?  What are they?

5. Who is your favourite politician from history and why?

6. What is your favourite form of government?  Why?

7. What do you think makes a successful democracy?

8. Are you capable of being online for the duration of this session of the Underhusen?  How "active" do you consider yourself on the forums?

9. Are there any other questions that you believe all of the candidates should answer?  As this is a more informal debate (it's a steak fry, after all) feel free to engage in debate (but preferably productive discussion) with your fellow candidates and upstanding citizens of the Wintreath community!  :)

10. And now, arguably the most important question of them all—how would you like your steak?

Well honestly it should probably be to review what we have now and fix it up. Again some Judicial Reform would be nice, in addition to fixing up some potential issues within the Fundamental Laws. We should also, finally, repeal that treaty with Ainur.

Well we should continue NS recruitment, however at this time we are an NS region really, so unless we, as a community, wish to move away from NS entirely we need to keep up our NS presence.

3. What do you think is the biggest problem facing Wintreath at this point?
Inactivity, Stagnation, and Legal Flaws.

4. Do other NS regions have any programs or operations that you think we could emulate to enrich our community here in Wintreath?  What are they?
I'm pretty sure there are, but I can't think of any at the moment.

5. Who is your favourite politician from history and why?
I have three actually: Teddy Roosevelt, FDR, and Bernie Sanders. All of them because they care(d) about the people and work(ed) to help strengthen the nation and to help fix issues within a political system.

6. What is your favourite form of government?  Why?
Depends on what it is, for smaller groups something like a Constitutionally Restricted Autocracy would probably work best, for something a bit larger I do enjoy a Republic.

7. What do you think makes a successful democracy?
Democracies are rarely successful in history it seems. What we should be asking is what do you think makes a successful republic, and in that case an educated electorate. Voting is a skill that must be learned in order to demagoguery, corruption, and tyranny.

Yes, and I consider myself moderately active.

What do you see as flaws within the Wintreath Legal System?

Medium-Rare please, and make sure to give me some hot-sauce and steak sauce.

1. Before we get into the real meat of this event, as always, I want to ask all of you—what make you decide to run for the Underhusen?  What should the main goals of the new, 21st legislature be?

Activity? Also, I really want a steak. Its not the only thing, but it is quite important.

Not really, other than being active at all.

3. What do you think is the biggest problem facing Wintreath at this point?

Inactivity. Also, a distinct lack of steaks.

4. Do other NS regions have any programs or operations that you think we could emulate to enrich our community here in Wintreath?  What are they?

Other than the NWP, which is pretty ok, and Equinox, and fuck them, I have no real experience with other regions

5. Who is your favourite politician from history and why?

FDR. Which other politician had Polio, won 4 separate elections, a world war, and beat depression?

6. What is your favourite form of government?  Why?

Social democracy.

7. What do you think makes a successful democracy?

Participation of the people and banning money donations.

8. Are you capable of being online for the duration of this session of the Underhusen?  How "active" do you consider yourself on the forums?

Yes and quite.

9. Are there any other questions that you believe all of the candidates should answer?  As this is a more informal debate (it's a steak fry, after all) feel free to engage in debate (but preferably productive discussion) with your fellow candidates and upstanding citizens of the Wintreath community!  :)

Not really.

10. And now, arguably the most important question of them all—how would you like your steak?

Cooked.

If anyone would like to help an effectively new guy out, has anything really concerning happened lately aside from seeming inactivity?

1. Before we get into the real meat of this event, as always, I want to ask all of you—what make you decide to run for the Underhusen?  What should the main goals of the new, 21st legislature be?
I decide to run because I felt that I could help with the inactive Underhusen and actually implement whatever we decide we want in the region. I think the main goals of this Underhusen term should be to clean up any laws that need fixing, and, like Chanku said, repeal that treaty with Ainur. Also, if anyone still wants to, possible add currency.

Well, we already have the recruitment telegram, so the only other thing I can think of right now is more embassies so nations that leave a region that has an embassy with us might notice us and check our region out. Also, helping new nations to be more active would also help, but we already have a very welcoming community.

3. What do you think is the biggest problem facing Wintreath at this point?
HEARSY!

4. Do other NS regions have any programs or operations that you think we could emulate to enrich our community here in Wintreath?  What are they?
Currency is one idea, like 10000 island has with their tacos. I've just heard of them, so I don't know how they work; that might be worth looking into for ideas.

5. Who is your favourite politician from history and why?
Donald Trump! Just kidding

I don't really know, to be honest. I guess, FDR because of like, reasons and stuff. ???

Quote
6. What is your favourite form of government?  Why?
In Nationstates, Dictatorship because it's the most fun and you can do things like dealing with teenage obesity by creating the "Hungry Games" and putting only fat kids in it. :P

In real life, 'Merica's one (I'm not sure what to call it; Democratic Republic? It's not a total democracy). It's because it's not corrupted (at least, I hope so) and it's very successful.

Quote
7. What do you think makes a successful democracy?
Voting (duh) and elected leaders because a total democracy doesn't work.

Quote
8. Are you capable of being online for the duration of this session of the Underhusen?  How "active" do you consider yourself on the forums?
Yeah, I'm capable. I'm very active and if I don't come here for a day, it's usually only a day or two. It would also help to have a reason why I have to come back here (being elected). I would be even more active if I got elected. Some may have noticed me being inactive for the past couple of days, but that was because of the nuclear apocalypse.

Not really.

What do you see as flaws within the Wintreath Legal System?
The judicial system looked underdeveloped (probably due to there being hardly any cases at all). Also, grammar mistakes are flaws that could potentially change the intended meaning of the laws, but it's unlikely that would be a problem.

10. And now, arguably the most important question of them all—how would you like your steak?
Steak-flavored. :P
