And what did you do to the coastline?? Don't get me wrong, it's pretty, but you turned a ton of inland settlements into coastal ones with all those fjords.@Weissreich I have a feeling you're misidentifying the key... Zemas is at the Huggtänder mountains, not Robin.Right you are, it's Zemas - my apologies!
Am I correct in saying that my location (Galdémere) is rather temperate?
On the map, anything below the southern tip of Frost Lake is considered temperate, with it growing warmer the further south you go. By the time you're at the Gulf of Andoril and the Narrows (the way into Wintreath on the south-west corner of the map) you're at pretty much deciduous forestry, swamps, grasslands etc etc. South-east is desert by the time you're hitting the coast, with the River Lyss being the only stretch of green in that Ride for quite some way. In between either of those is the Indurain causeway networks, so it's lush greenery anyways (Galdémere is a hub on that network) because everything is irrigated.
Shit-tonnes of water, yo!
I can do climate bands if you want any more information than that :)
Your biomes are off. The southeast is most definitely NOT lush swampland; there's a reason why all the settlements there are called "outposts". Let me quote from Weissreich himself:And what did you do to the coastline?? http://imgur.com/LHFzkKULooks nice... I only see two problems: desert coastlines tend to be more boring than that. :P It made sense when it was a swamp, not so much now. Also, the desert shouldn't extend that far west (as Weissreich said, there's an extensive irrigation/causeway system).

Oh, thanks, that'll make things much easier! Couldn't the Wintermoot allow us to paste images directly from our computers? And take out the middle man which is Imgur?Good image hosting comes with a bunch of other problems. But to answer your question, you actually can, though with rather limiting size restrictions. I usually just don't, and use Imgur or something else.

And take out the middle man which is Imgur?Yeah, as tau said, you can just upload images from your computer if you'd like -- Imgur just looks better and also allows you to "spoiler" it. When you're going to post something, there's an "Attachments and other options" below the text window. If you click that, you can choose a file (ie, image) to attach.
All told this is a pretty damn good effort at the map. I really like the colour schemes, although they certainly don't include most of the biomes Wintreath has in the south nor in the middling regions along the line of Frostlake itself. That said, I think if you went with the first draft version, turned the SE swamp into desert, had a little more frosted tundra between the south sunny and warm areas and the north cold and snowy areas, maybe did away with some of the coastline changes (the Far North, for example, is not an ice sheet for at least 500 miles beyond the map's border, it's just REALLY FUCKING COLD), you'd have a damn good map.
You already do have a damn good map, it'd just be even better :p
Also, why do so many people have an upside-down profile image?December 2016 Avatar of the Month (http://wintreath.com/forums/index.php?topic=4111.0)
This looks really good now. The northern part still seems a bit weird, though, since the straight horizontal coastlines don't really make much sense.
Never mind, I was looking at the copy you posted to the RP Guild. is that one different, or just outdated? This looks really good now. The northern part still seems a bit weird, though, since the straight horizontal coastlines don't really make much sense.
What do you mean? I see no perfectly horizontal coastline...
Is the map posted anywhere else other than Imgur? If not, can someone put it on another image aggregator site? Imgur does not work on my computer for images. It looks more like the image was posted to a non Imgur host, given the URL. But all of @Noris Kneecap's photos have been deleted.
Here's a reupload:Great, nice to see the map isn't lost forever.Spoiler(https://i.imgur.com/d2GzfOz.png)
Speaking as an on-and-off RPer, not sure if it would get a lot of traction, so I question if it'd be worth it.If we run a consistent and significantly lengthy "advertising" campaign for it, I'm sure it would gain traction. As Thane of Roleplay, I believe it would work. I'll get to work on the system immediately.
But speaking as Jarl of RA, it's worth a shot to drum up RMB activity.
Its creator isn't around anymore, so it's not like we can get his permission, and we've previously used it for RP anyway so I'd say we've already deemed it acceptable.
