I love Arcade Fire so much. Seriously, heart them.
Arkona-Po Syroi Zemle (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dq6v7C89eyk#ws)Them and Moonsorrow!
Best pagan metal band ever...
Why would you not listen to the Amon Amarth original!?!?!?!?! ;-;
Give the entire Lateralus album from Tool a listen, and try to unravel its hidden existential message.
Beware, a basic knowledge of mathematics is required to do so.
So...do you think of me often? <3 :POh you saucy fellow.
I hope by tour you don't mean a tour to North Korea. >_>
My dads gone on the tour of North Korea. Cost him quite the pretty penny... Said it was of some interest or note but didn't directly recommend it.
Just rediscovered Lynyrd Skynyrd's Freebird. I had forgotten just how good hard rock from that era could be. Man.That was our high school graduation song. At the last minute a group tried to get it changed to another song, but they were too late, lol.
Ladies and gentlemen, the social commentary of Reon. :PMy social commentary is brilliant and you know it. These are biblical level words, my dear! Enth level! This is what I live for!
Interesting perspective. I thought a loner was someone with very few/no friends. I merely see myself as non-judgmental and individualistic.A loner can also be that and the loner as I described above does lend itself to fewer "friends" than others.
My social commentary is brilliant and you know it. These are biblical level words, my dear! Enth level! This is what I live for!And very modest about it, too! :P
Found this on r/INTP and thought it was cool. The whole album gives a Mass Effect vibe.

I'm not watching that video on the off chance that it contains a spoiler. Star Wars is on today's agenda. It's literally just the official trailer with music only. If you want only the music, here's a link (the video consists of only one image):
Space Oddity, performed by Chris Hadfield on the ISS.

I have no idea why I like this, but I do.Uh, well first of all, it's Gorillaz, which is reason enough... Also, Feel Good Inc. is a classic.
holy shit this is amazing
like it's not even the message really, but how it flows together so well

And its funny that you posted that Jay Foreman video, tau, as a couple days ago I had just watched all of his "Map Men" videos, which are both informative and entertaining. His "Unfinished London" series is classic for me, and I like "Politics Unboringed" well. His Green Party ads are pretty bad though.
"Death is a natural part of life. Rejoice for those around you who transform into the Force. Mourn them do not. Miss them do not."Why are the youtube things cut off so they're a thin rectangle? Or is that just me?

Listened to this after watching Arrival (amazing movie, hit all the notes for me)True but last time I posted it we didn't have the Russia investigation. It's more pertinent now. Previously it was just a good propaganda piece :P
Good song regardless. I remember John Oliver showing it and then thinking "hey, Robin posted that before!"

Multiple different groups there such as the Doors, Queen, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Bon Jovi, Weird Al Yankovic, Led Zeppelin, and other oldies songs.

I had no idea what I was in for when I saw flobots on here. This makes me love them even more. To make a cover that is so completely and utterly against the principles and values of the original and its artist....![]()
I listen to Traditional ethnic music of various cultures, Russian Folk, EDM, Jazz, Swing, Electro Swing, and Classical.Russian folk is gr8. I discovered it back when I was friends with a lot of Slavic language nerds and I was trying to learn Naški (Serbo-Croatian) and it's been one of my favorite forms of folk music since.

Spem in alium (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spem_in_alium) (Latin for "Hope in any other") is a 40-part Renaissance motet by Thomas Tallis, composed in c. 1570 for eight choirs of five voices each, considered by some critics to be the greatest piece of English early music. Along with Tallis's Lamentations, H. B. Collins described it in 1929 as Tallis's "crowning achievement".
Another Bill Wurtz fan! I just listened to this one today :D![]()
The music video is great.![]()
The 80s have grown on me, of late.
Today was Heritage Day, also known as Braai Day. I'm posting this in honour. I'm in a super good mood since, despite being forced to work on a public holiday, I also got double pay.FYI I think only https links work now, so your video didn't load? Added an "s" in the quote and now it loads in my post.

It's Gonna Rain is a minimalist musical composition for magnetic tape written by Steve Reich in 1965. It lasts about 17 minutes and 50 seconds. It was Reich's first major work and a landmark in minimalism and process music. It's oddly mesmerizing...
The source material of It's Gonna Rain consists entirely of a tape recording made in 1964 at San Francisco's Union Square. In the recording, a Pentecostal preacher, Brother Walter, rails about the end of the world, while accompanying background noises, including the sound of a pigeon taking flight, are heard. The piece opens with the story of Noah, and the phrase "It's Gonna Rain" is repeated and eventually looped throughout the first half of the piece.
This was so good I shared it on Facebook =]![]()

Stan Rogers. All day.Yeeeeesss
Best sea shanties and other folk songs, especially a fan of his acapella bits.
It's so horrible how he passed in his prime.
@taulover -- OMG thank you for sharing that video! I love Carly Rae Jepsen and Khalid. I think CRJ is super underrated.CRJ absolutely deserves more attention for her work than she's received. Her newest album (Dedicated) is pretty good.
OPSeven years on I can indeed confirm that I am not the only person to enjoy music from different genres. That Streets song still slaps though.
Music like this doesn't get made anymore. Will always upvote Vampire Weekend, even though I disagree with that sentiment.
This movie is insanely good, and one of my favourite soundtracks since Channel 4 unjustly cancelled Utopia back in 2014.Excellent stress inducing movie. This past season has been full of those, and all with different but great stress inducing music.
Excellent stress inducing movie. This past season has been full of those, and all with different but great stress inducing music.I haven't seen 1917 but was lucky enough to catch Parasite on the big screen, and holy shit what a film. I've watched almost all of Bong's filmography since, and every one of his films that I've seen has been great. If you haven't seen Okja or The Host I'd recommend both of those.
We'll be fighting in the streets
With our children at our feet
And the morals that they worship will be gone
And the men who spurred us on
Sit in judgement of all wrong
They decide and the shotgun sings the song
I'll tip my hat to the new constitution
Take a bow for the new revolution
Smile and grin at the change all around
Pick up my guitar and play
Just like yesterday
Then I'll get on my knees and pray
We don't get fooled again
The change, it had to come
We knew it all along
We were liberated from the fold, that's all
And the world looks just the same
And history ain't changed
'Cause the banners, they are flown in the next war
I'll tip my hat to the new constitution
Take a bow for the new revolution
Smile and grin at the change all around
Pick up my guitar and play
Just like yesterday
Then I'll get on my knees and pray
We don't get fooled again, no, no
I'll move myself and my family aside
If we happen to be left half alive
I'll get all my papers and smile at the sky
Though I know that the hypnotized never lie
Do ya?
Yeah
There's nothing in the streets
Looks any different to me
And the slogans are replaced, by-the-bye
And the parting on the left
Is now parting on the right
And the beards have all grown longer overnight
I'll tip my hat to the new constitution
Take a bow for the new revolution
Smile and grin at the change all around
Pick up my guitar and play
Just like yesterday
Then I'll get on my knees and pray
We don't get fooled again
Don't get fooled again, no, no
Yeah
Meet the new boss
Same as the old boss

love this song, one of my favorite blackpink songs

I can't actually think of a single bad song by Simon and Garfunkel.I think that one is my favorite.
This song is really best listened to with a good pair of headphones. I discovered it on the Netflix Sci-fi series Dark (which is without a doubt my favourite sci-fi show ever, by the way) . It fits the somber, hopeless tone of the show it was featured on perfectly, and it's absolutely beautiful just the same.Rip, these are both getting shown as not available for me
EDIT: And of course Youtube makes the connection and recommends the song that gets used for Dark's intro credits, too. :D
Thanks for the rec! Melody was alright to me but I think what I really liked was the production, especially the intro and slow build.

The melody on this song slaps so. fricking. good.
@taulover: You know, I don't really like that song...I feel like I'm speaking heresy in the music world. But this take was a more vibrant, modern twist on it. ^-^I really like Jacob Collier - he does really good jazz fusion and his concerts demand a lot of really great audience participation. And Tori Kelly's voice and range is phenomenal.
