It's taken awhile, but I've decided it's useless to work out too much without first seeing how many people would like to sign up.
So the theme is going to be Monty Python and the Holy Grail, and the object is to try and get past the Bridgekeeper and get to -- you guessed it -- the holy grail!
But it's not that simple. During the day phase, someone will get nominated to face the Bridgekeeper's 3 riddles (the air speed velocity of an unladen swallow may or may not be included), and whoever gets the most votes will be forced to do so. Failing even one of the 3 riddles will mean instant death in a fiery pit just below the bridge.
At night, the two (or possibly more, depending on how many people participate) disguised French knights will try to eliminate one member of the party at camp, while Arthur tries to identify who among his party are the French knights, and Sir Galahad the Pure and Sir Robin the not-quite-so-brave-as-Sir-Lancelot try to defend one person each night. Sir Lancelot has the power to kill one person independently each night for up to 3 nights. Sir Lancelot is a bit of a tool, and is just as likely to kill an innocent as a bad guy, making him the vigilante of this game of werewolf, although he owes his allegiance to the good guys, and I'm considering appointing a seer for the wolves too, but again, that's just if there are enough players.

1. Wintermoot
2. Pengu

I'm curious, how much knowledge of the theme do you have to have in order do well in this game? If you get voted during the day, do you have to actually answer riddles?
-
Of course not. :P
If you get voted off, I'll kill you off in some embarrassing and funny way.
-
In that case, sign me up :D
-
Welcome to the game! :)
While no knowledge of the movie in question is needed, I do recommend watching it. It is incredibly funny.
-
Sign me up!
And Laurentus, if you want to prepare a short blip talking about the game, it can be added to an Addendum to send out to our ally regions to get them interested. And I'll also post a diddy on the RMB.
-
Sign me up!
-
You've both been added. Welcome to the game! :)
And thank you, Pengu. I'll try to come up with something.
-
I wouldn't miss this for the world! I'm in!
-
You have been added. Welcome to the game! :)
-
No way that I'd miss this. :D
-
Then welcome to the game! :)
-
In. Perhaps to even it up a bit, remove one of the defenders?
-
I'm in.
-
I'm in!
-
@Aaron Specter: If I give the bad guys a seer of their own, I can't then remove a defender from the good guys. :P
@taulover and Reon, welcome to the game!
-
Yeah, I'll play :)
-
@Aaron Specter, I didn't catch that "in" meant you wanted in on the game earlier, and you've now been added along with aternox. Welcome aboard, both of you! :)
-
Monty Python and the holy grail is one of the funniest films out there. Of course I'm going to join!
-
Welcome aboard, Hugsim! :)
-
This is excellent turnout amongst Wintreans. If someone will write something up, I'll send it to our embassies.
-
I hope it's not too late to join or anything, but this seems interesting. I don't know too much about Monty Python, but I've played Mafia many times before. Should be fun! :D
-
Welcome aboard Ayanhart! And since I notice that you're also new to the forums, welcome to the Wintreath regional forums! :D
-
Welcome, Ayanhart!
In addition, what is some important info that should be included in a short addendum?

I ended up sending Mooty one with a very slightly edited version of your description at the beginning, since it was perfect enough on its own. :)

Well Mooty usually adds his own little greeting to it before he has it ready to send out, but normally he makes a post in the Civil Service thread, and he said he'd have it sent out last night, so expect it possibly some time today.

(Posting as El Fiji Grande): Sign me up! Should I make a personalized account on this forum to do so?

You're fine with this account. You don't need a special name to play. :P
That, and if you go to the list on the top right (clicking your name) and go to OLD User CP, you can always change your display name to what you want (as shown by my change. :P)
-
Sign me up. I'll try to keep up with this game :P
-
Welcome to both the INWU Diplomat and Libertarian Republics! I hope you enjoy the game. :)
And that brings us close to the number of contestants of the previous game, I think.
-
I would recommend keeping sign-ups open for a few more days, as our ambassadors are still posting the invitation to other regions. :)
-
mumble mumble unladen swallow mumble mumble i got better mumble mumble very small rock mumble mumble sign me up!
-
Actually, I've decided to create a more personalized account anyway. I'd like to leave the INWU Diplomat one to be shared, and this one to be personal. So here I am. And I like that - El Pengu Grande! And Myroria - I'll say this once and for all, I really like your flag.

Understandable. We've had people do it before. I'm just used to most messageboards being against any concept of a double account, so I usually give people other suggestions. :P
-
I've changed INWU Diplomat to El Fiji Grande in the list of contestants.
And Myroria, 'twas shameful to forget 'tis but a scratch, but I've signed you up. You'll fit right in with this game. :P
And then you have a Pulp Fiction avatar too.
-
Hi Folks. This is Tomb from TNP.
I'd be happy to participate if there's still more room :)
-
I believe this game already has the most players of any held thus far. :D
-
Welcome to the game, Tomb! :)
And with the 15 players we already have, I can comfortably include quite a few power roles.
-
Yep, definitely the most so far...which is great to see! ^_^

I'm in, I'm yumyum36 from Equinox.
I'll check back daily so don't worry about me not seeming active due to a low post count :P

No worries, we welcome everyone from ally regions to take part in our games. Welcome to Wintreath!

And that brings us to 16 players!
Pengu, in your experience, is there a point where having a certain number of people becomes too chaotic?
-

Well sure, but usually the more chaotic the better. >:D
In seriousness though, I think the most I've had in a game was 21, and it was never too chaotic. A lot of PMs to send out, but it still played out the same.
I actually like more players because it gives freedom to add new roles, and at the same time makes it better for arguments when you have more people to choose from.
Plus...chances are at least 1 or 2 of those people will be inactive, so it tends to balance out sometimes. :P Though everyone on this list is someone I imagine is going to be pretty active, so it'll be a fun game. :))
-
Rightio. I think I'll leave this open for another week, and begin the game right after registration closes.
-

I've played in a lot of FM games on another forum and the highest manageable number I've seen is 25. When it got up near 30 or even past that it was just... mayhem. Games I've seen with that amount just flopped, even with dual mods.
16 should be easy enough, and allows for some experimentation with roles and that. Fun, fun, fun! :D
-
The highest I've ever played had around 65 players - divided into three towns, each with their own set of werewolves and townspeople (on boardgamegeek.com), and managed to get myself killed Night 1.
-
The more people the better 8)

This sounds really cool, I'd love to be in something like this.
Congrats on getting killed N1 out of 60 people, that's really quite an achievement :P
-
That actually sounds like about my luck...I've been one of the first to go in two out of three of our games. >_>
-

I'll never forget the irony in that.
Game 1: Wintermoot was killed in night 1
Game 2: The seer was killed in night 1
Game 3: Wintermoot, playing the seer, was killed in night 1.
-
What's amazing is that in both instances where the seer got killed N1, the good guys went on to win.
-
It's a coincidence! :P

Let's not, actually. :P

How long has Werewolf been a tradition in Wintreath?
Sign ups for Wintreath's first game of Werewolf opened on September 29th of last year. Everyone loved it, and now we're on game number IV!
EDIT: Check out this thread for some more info: http://wintreath.com/forums/index.php?topic=2203.0 (http://wintreath.com/forums/index.php?topic=2203.0)
-
Like Colberius X said, we've had it running since September. I come from 10000 Islands, where they're running on game 42 right now, and it's still going strong. When I joined Wintreath, I was quite surprised they had never played it before, so I brought it here for people to take part in. Since the feedback from the first game was very positive, I made later games and so far it's become more popular with each passing game. Laurentus' game so far marks the most players Wintreath has ever had sign on, and I'm hoping to see it continue to grow as games continue.
-
Olla from CDN ^_^
Can I join in?
-
The game hasn't started, so you should be able to :)
-
Hello.
I am from the CoDN also. May I join?
-
You've both been added. Welcome to the game! :)
And now I'll close sign-ups. Should I follow a special procedure, or can I just go ahead and start the game?
-
I don't think there's a special procedure besides PMing the individual roles to all the players first.
-

Like Sapphiron said, it's mainly just PMing everyone their roles (chosen via Randomizer), and then creating the game thread. :-)
-
I'm excited to finally have this game get going.
-
So how exactly will this work?
-
When Laurentus is ready, he'll send you a private message on this forum with your role in the game, then he'll start the first day phase. We'll talk, lynch someone...or nobody...and then it'll become night and it'll be the baddies turn. :P
-
I know how werewolf works, and I love it. I was just clarifying how it'll work on these forums. Thanks - and I read some of the pinned topics as well.
Let's do this!
-
Yes! Let's do it! :D
