Gabriel read the brochure carefully from top to bottom.  He had been eager to get away for some time, and the brochure appearing in the mail had been a welcome surprise.  As he sat in the parking lot, he let out a relieved sigh, looking at the place in front of him that he had read only a week ago in the brochure: from the outside, the place seemed to be everything he was hoping for, even if the price was a little steep.

Closing his car door, Gabriel walked towards the front, making his way inside the busy, although somehow still relaxed, main building.  As he approached the front desk, the woman at the front gave him a warm smile.

"Can I help you?" she asked in an equally warm voice.

"Yes, I have a reservation for a Gabriel Sommers." Gabriel replied.

The woman began searching on her computer as Gabriel's name popped up.  She continued clicking and looking at the screen as she asked for Gabriel's ID.  He handed it to her as she scanned it carefully with her eyes, then eying Gabriel to make sure he fit the picture, as she typed in her computer once more.

She finished, handing Gabriel back his card with the same smile as before.  "Alright, and it looks like you're already paid for and good to go."

The woman then reached behind her for a blank card and scanned it into the system, making a few key strokes before scanning it again.

"Alright, and here's your room key, and if you have any luggage, Carlos will be happy to help you out.  Please enjoy your stay here with us at Pengopolis Mega resort."

Gabriel smiled and replied with a "thank you" as he then left from the same doors to grab his luggage.  He was traveling by himself and didn't carry much, so he didn't want to trouble Carlos with only one suitcase.

Gabriel was already feeling exceptionally relaxed at this place of leisure, as he contemplated the various things to do.  Did he want to see the water?  Go for a hike?  Check out the arcade?

It seemed as his feet began to move on their own, he already had his answer.  He had started making his way towards the garden section, diverting towards the large hedge maze within the botanical area.

I might as well have some fun as well as quiet time. he thought himself as he began making his way through the beautiful hedge maze that was decorated with various flowers as well.

As he made his way towards the center after some time, he let out a sigh of relief and contentment as he sat himself on the ground and began to meditate.

It is to quiet...I think something came from my world into yours. she stammers on nervously.

We are being hunted...we must move or whatever is causing that unnatural silence will find us. the changeling grabs him and tries to get him to come with her.

Pengu seemed startled at the woman that suddenly appeared near him and began rambling about saving his life.

Well there goes my vacation... he said with a sigh as the woman grabbed his arm.

Pengu sighed as he followed the woman.  "So what's supposedly hunting us?"

Thats the fun part, I HAVE NO IDEA...

*the changeling then notices the clear blue sky seemingly darken and the maze is filled with a odd purple fog*

But what ever it is has countermeasures against magic, for it put of a mana drain field...

*the fog fills the corridors and causes visibility to decrease unable to see the floor nor barely in front of you, It tastes of honey yet at the same time numbs the mouth causing the 2 to drool for the first few minutes uncontrollably*

Tht and itt sems too nmb i'ts prey and hids in the shaddws. the changeling barely makes out her tongue visible and clumsily moving about.

It's not advised to hold a blade to the throat of the Monarch of the realm you're visiting, milady.  Might want to let him down gently.  And perhaps apologize.

*Colberius reaches into the depths of his trench coat and withdraws a revolver, snapping it open to slide in several more rounds, which glow a faint blue.*

Now, what seems to be the problem? I heard mention of something crossing between worlds... I happen to specialize in removing things from where they do not belong.

"I'm not leaving this spot until someone tells me what's going on!  I came here for peace and quiet, and now there's talk about being chased and hunted and all of these people keep showing up.  I'm starting to get a headache!"

Listen what's going on is simple...

*the queen makes sure the group is still on the move and watching the corridors for any disturbances*

I had arrived at this resort for my pleasure to relax from the hardships of ruling a empire and maintaining appearances, I had brought along a prototype portal aperture that should connect this realm with the nexus of the changeling swarm allowing a quick and ready transport across the multiverse...

*the changeling cries to herself a bit*

I Swear I had never ment for this to happen, the technology has been used and proven hundred of times over allowing me to allow others to traverse the void without any sort of aid or horrible effects...

*the changeling starts growing in anger*

But I have no clue what could have caused this to happen, I mean its effects are evident as it seems this realms pulling in things from other realms while disabling others. (my magic, everyone being present all of a sudden, whatever is stalking us in this maze)

I have solution but we must make it back to the main resort so I can close the main gate and open up a side gate allowing changeling containment units to rush in and secure the hotel and put measures in place to stabilize the realm. the changeling explains before moving down the long maze hall and encountering a split path.

Colbe The problem is that this thing is completely unknown to us coming from a realm we have no knowledge of...

*the changeling with her blade sharp reaches for her hip revealing a pistol that looks runic with geometric shapes and a very boxy like appearance with glowing blue lines emanating from the carvings that cover the weapon entirely all but a patch of glowing toxic green crystals on top that seemingly discharge a arch between 2 crystal pillars working as iron sights*

In all honestly I am not even sure we can kill it...even so the rips in the dimensional fabric must compensate for the transfer of mass and energy between realms, So it may just bring another one from another realm or something worse...so as a suggestion we should try to avoid and or just get back to the hotel before this rift gets any worse. the queen repliies waiting for directions as she hears a cackling growl from the distance.

"My aching head."

Gabriel stood up as he looked at his strange companions. 

"You all can do whatever you'd like and keep playing Galaxy warriors, or whatever you want to call it.  I'm going back to my vacation."

He said as he walked away from his group and walked out of the resort, back to the gardens.

"Those people sure were strange.  Going on and on about the weirdest things..." Gabriel muttered as he made his way to the Zen gardens area and carefully made his way to one of the stones in the center.  He listened carefully to the silence as he sat peacefully, breathing in the fresh air.

"That's much better..."

The only sound he could hear was the birds chirping peacefully as he meditated for a moment, basking in the tranquil nature of the area.

It was only moments later that he noticed the tranquil silence had taken a different turn - the birds had suddenly gone silent as well.

Gabriel's eyes opened as he looked around.

"Where'd the birds go?"  He asked curiously.  As if to answer this question, a sound came from the nearby brush as Gabriel's head turned.

"Hello?  This isn't funny you guys, I told you that you're on your own!" Gabriel shouted frustratingly as another sound came from the other side.

"Seriously, leave me alone!" he shouted again, his voice being increasingly more irritated.

In a second a figure emerged from the bushes and approached Gabriel with similar quickness, brandishing an unusual weapon that Gabriel had never seen before.  He hardly had time to react as he let out a scream as the assailant slashed Gabriel countless times with his weapon, causing him to fall to the ground while he bled profusely.  The curious assailant stood there next to Gabriel, watching him carefully and readying their fatal blow.

Just do it.  I should never have come here in the first place.  Just finish me off...please... Gabriel thought to himself as the assailant lifted their weapon.  But they quickly stopped and turned their gaze, disappearing into the shadows as quickly as they had appeared.  What had stopped them from finishing the job?

"...I guess that's it then." Gabriel said to himself as he laughed.  "What a vacation this turned out to be." he added with a short laugh.

The others silently watched Gabriel as he walked away.  After he had gone out of sight, Colberius turned back to the queen.

"Even the daemons (http://warhammer40k.wikia.com/wiki/Daemons) back home are vulnerable to my weapons, so I'm not concerned about what it is we're up against.

But Winter may be right... We should attempt to communicate with it, if only to buy you more time."

The queen began to answer, but was interrupted by a shout from the direction of the zen gardens, soon followed by a scream. 

Without hesitation, Colberius broke into a dead run, his coat billowing around him.  He fervently hoped that the others were following.  For all his confidence and experience, he wasn't entirely certain he could handle whatever awaited him on his own. 

But when he reached the site of the attack, he found Gabriel alone on the ground, laughing and bleeding from numerous wounds.  Colberius swept the area with an iron gaze, pistol and phase knife leveled, but they were alone.

Communicating, LOOK AT THE WOUND ON THIS MAN...

*the changeling examines it revealing it to be a laceration to the abdomen oddly curving around the waist rather than cutting straight through, it is bleeding profusely but it appears no vitals had been hit*

WHATEVER ATTACKED HIM IS HUNTING US LIKE GAME, think about it why else would a predator run unless it did not want to reveal itself fully to us...

*the changeling returns to the wounded man slinging him over winters shoulder*

Now listen we need to get out of this place NOW, We need to stick together so whatever that thing is won't pick us off one by one, the faster we get out the better but knowing a hunter he is likely to have a few tricks and traps that we will have to look out for. the queen tells the guys before taking point with her changeling weaponry.

Colberius held out a hand to stop the queen.

"We need to stay calm and not panic.  That means binding his wound before we move on.  Does anyone have anything we can use?"

While a suitable strip of cloth was being found, the Inquisitor addressed the group.

"We'll be moving slowly, now that one of us is hurt.  If we are indeed being hunted, as the queen suggested, I don't like our odds."

"I volunteer to serve as a diversion, and buy you all the time you need to get to safety and get help.  I can handle myself well enough to survive until then, I wager."

NO we need to find a way out of this maze before someone sacrifices themselves fo....

*the queen is cut off as suddenly the mysterious figure appears from behind the corner and charges at the queen knocking her down and trying to stab her with a curved blade only to be knocked off of her*

##@$ING DIE!!! the queen shouts as she attempts to shoot the now fleeing figure off of her.

*the figure is able to teleport away into the thick mist that surrounds them but not before a arch of electricity travels through the beings side leaving a purple smear of blood*

Ok. the queen says as she tries to shake off the recent attack as if it had not happened.

Did nobody notice that "Gabriel" referred to himself as Pengu previously? Why would the owner of a hotel go under an assumed alias all of a sudden? Unless he's hiding something...

OOC: Blame them for the sudden change.  :P  It was meant to be an actual resort much like the Frostbite Tavern is an "actual" tavern.  Someone just decided to take it in a different direction.

Gabriel wakes up in his bed, looking around curiously.

"Uh...what was all that?" He asks, scratching his head.  "Was it a dream?" He adds as he gets up, getting himself dressed.

Looking around, Gabriel makes his way to the lobby, then turning towards the arcade.  I think I'm in the mood for some laser tag...  he thinks to himself as he heads inside.
