The newest game of Spyfall has the necessary amount of players so the game is starting up now.
If you need more reminders of how to play Spyfall, you can check this link to see the general forum page http://wintreath.com/forums/index.php?board=137.0 and http://wintreath.com/forums/index.php?topic=4116.0 this link to see a good description of the rules and how the game operates. The spy will not be allowed to make accusations.
@Sapphiron you will get to start off this game of Spyfall but I recommend waiting for at least a few more hours before you start the game off by asking the first question.
Remember that the game does not end until either there is a unanimous vote to accuse a player of being the spy, or the spy makes a guess as to what the location of the game is. Have fun and Good Luck!!!!!!
1. taulover
2. Sapphiron
3. Red Mones
4. Hydra
5. Gerrick
6. Mathyland
7. Crushita
8. Wintermoot

why though
Give more time to be ready because some of these roles are very challenging.

The person whom Sapph asks can just wait until they come up with a good answer...

That they can.
@Sapphiron When you are ready. Go ahead and start.

@taulover What does the fox say?
Oh and Kane, it would be great if you can include the list of players in the first post of this thread, for referencing purposes.
-
Ha ha, very funny.
Though more seriously, I shouldn't be the one you're asking that question.
@Gerrick How did you get here?
-
I've been here so long I almost can't remember not being here.
@Red Mones What was the last meal you ate here?
-
I haven't eaten here, and I don't plan on it. I came to do one thing, and I need to stay focused.
@Mathyland, why did you come here?
-
I came here for a job, though I used to come here for entertainment with my family. Now that I found work here, I’ve realized that the manager only cares about making money.
@Hydra what’s your favorite thing about this place?
-
Umm, well not much. Most people here don't really like me and this place isn't what I thought it would be.
@Wintermoot Do you enjoy it here?
-
@Wintermoot?
-
Sorry, this is why I only volunteered as a last resort lol
I guess I'll have to, I'm going to be spending a lot of time here. At least I have sleep as a constant companion, not like all is lost.
@Crushita, what do you usually do here?
-
@Crushita?
-
Sell stuff and get fucked over.
@Sapphiron how do you feel about this place?
-
This place is amazing! It has everything I could ask for.
@Red Mones Do you know where the guards usually patrol at this time of the day?
-
"Guards" is a bit of an extreme word to use, they're more like mall cops to me. But yes, I have been keeping track of where security usually is at each hour of the day.
-
@taulover, when was the last time you left here?
(Sorry, forgot to ask a question and didn't want to modify my post.)
-
I've never been here before until now. Not the type of place I'd usually go to.
@Mathyland What's your least favorite thing about this place?
-
Definitely the manager; he doesn't care about any living thing.
@Crushita you said you sell stuff here. What kind of stuff do you sell here?
-
@Crushita?
-
Food. To my unending regret.
@Wintermoot are you enjoying yourself?
-
I'd be enjoying myself a lot more if you gave me that food you're selling. Someone's got to eat it, why not me?
@taulover: Not the type of place you'd usually go...what do you have against a place like this?
-
I have nothing against this place, just doesn't fit my personal tastes.
@Hydra why are you here?
-
Well, I came here hoping to make some dough, but this cesspool is driving me nuts!
@Gerrick Are you here with anyone?
-
Haha, no. I don't have the time to spend with others.
@Sapphiron If you had to make a complaint against this place, what would it be?
-
@Sapphiron?
-
It’s disgustingly smelly here.
@Hydra Which is the smelliest section here?
-
@Hydra?
-
Well, in my eyes, it's definitely where the people who work for me try to chill and waste time.
@Crushita How hard would it be to find a potato here?
-
@Crushita?
-
I can look in the back, I already cooked up the whole ones though.
@taulover
Anything wrong?
-
Nah, I'm not having much trouble finding the inspiration for what I need.
@Red Mones why are you here?
-
To release these poor prisoners. :(
@Wintermoot, why do say you'll be spending a lot of time here?
-
I accuse Gerrick of being a spy.
I've been here so long I almost can't remember not being here.
In response to taulover's "How did you get here?", what? :))Haha, no. I don't have the time to spend with others.
Reads like a tiny dose of cynicism to hide a venture into the dark.
-
The current accusation vote count is 1/7.
The game ends if this vote becomes unanimous, otherwise it continues.
Remember that!
-
Because I'm here for life...that's a pretty long time.
@taulover, what is it about this place that doesn't fit your personal tastes?
-
I second Sapph's accusation of Gerruck being the spy.
-
Eh, it's just not my idea of a fun day to come here, y'know? I have other things to do in my life that I find more important.
@Gerrick what did you last eat here?
-
Just a burger. I've already tried everything they serve here, though.
@Mathyland What are you wearing?
-
I also
second (third?) Sapp's accusation of Gerrick.
I believe that Spyfall rules say the game should stop when a vote starts until it ends, then it continues.
-

I did not really stop the game earlier when I announced the beginning of the vote count but now I officially will.
3/7 votes now to accuse Gerrick of being the spy
-
Aight then, if we're stopping the game, then I'll fourth the accusation on Gerrick.
His answers are weird, and if he was given a very strange role, I can see it potentially working, but otherwise...
-
I don't know...Gerrick is one of two people that I suspect, but in my mind one has as much chance of being the spy as the other. I guess I'll see how the few remaining votes go.
-
Paging @Hydra and @Crushita to vote whether or not to accuse Gerrick of being the spy, even though @Wintermoot already made his position clear I am still going to page him about this vote.
Currently the count is 4/7.
The spy could still make a guess if they wanted to right now just so that you know.
-
I'll accuse Gerrick I guess.
-
Well, looks like my time is about up...
Not sure of this at all, but I suppose I'll guess that we're at some sort of zoo?
-
You are correct Gerrick so you won the game.
I am very busy at the moment so I won't do the big reveal until another time.
-
Haha...well, damn. Looks like I lost the game for us. v_v Congrats Gerrick, game well played. :)
I suspected Gerrick, but I also thought there was a chance that taulover could be the spy. I was directing my questions to him, and they all seemed pretty vague to me, so that was why I was uncertain.
-
Hehe, nicely played.
-
How did you know it was a zoo?!
-
Whew, that was close! Goddamn, Sapphiron! Good instincts. :D
At first I thought it was like a casino/resort since Hydra said he came to make money, Sapphiron said it had everything he could ask for, Mathyland said it had entertainment, Crushita said he sold food, taulover said it wasn't his kind of place, and Red Mones said he was keeping track of the guards and came to do one thing (I guess to steal from the casino?). Sapphiron's "disgustingly smelly" and Red Mones' "prisoners" answers threw that idea out, though.
So what location has family entertainment, is smelly, has mall cop-type security, and has prisoners that someone wants to break out? A zoo was my first guess, but it didn't seem to totally fit. Wintermoot was obviously one of the prisoners, but if it was a zoo, why was he a prisoner? And if he was an animal, how could he talk? Why did Crushita hate his job so much? Why did Hydra mention a cesspool? Are zoos really that smelly? Why did Sapphiron like this place so much when everyone else hated it?
Thought it could be a circus since it seemed to fit the bill, plus it would be smellier, but nobody seemed to fit a "circus freak" or entertainer type role, which I'd expect for a circus. Wintermoot could've been an abused entertainer (would explain how he could talk), but he said all he does is sleep, not entertain.
Ultimately, though, no other locations I could think of fit the clues as well. A location having both prisoners and family entertainment narrowed it down pretty far. And Sapphiron's "what does the fox say?" question seemed to be a clue that there were wild animals, so that made me a little more sure.
At first (since I thought it was a casino), I tried to pretend my role was someone who was addicted to gambling -- hence the "I can't remember not being here" and "I don't have time to spend with others" -- though as a plan B, they could also be viewed as some employee/manager who hates his job and has to spend his time there 24/7. Really didn't know how to answer the "What did you last eat?" question -- just said a burger since they're served at pretty much every entertainment place that sells food. Probably not the best answer, though, obviously. :P If I were more clever, I would have accused taulover earlier on since his answers were so vague.
So my guesses at people's roles:
Red Mones: animal-rights activist
Hydra: zoo manager
Mathyland: zoo employee
Crushita: zoo restaurant cook
Wintermoot: talking monkey?
Sapphiron: zoo/animal enthusiast?
taulover: zoo/animal non-enthusiast?
Fun game, guys! :)) Thanks for playing, everyone, and thanks for hosting, Kane lives!
-
I was a fucking rugby coach looking for a team mascot.
I'd like to commend Kane for his creativity in his roles.
-
I also suspected taulover of being the spy. :D
My role: Eco-terrorist who was going to release all the animals. I thought the "release the prisoners" might've given away too much, but all my other answers didn't really fit in my head.
-
Yeah, the militant animal activist wasn't too difficult to figure out.
I did consider giving more specific answers, but decided that all that would do was clue in the spy onto the location even faster.
-
pokes head out of pile of assignments
Here is the reveal.
As already mentioned the location was the zoo.
The roles that were assigned and selected, some randomly, some not randomly were as follows.
As taulover said he was a rugby coach looking for his new team's mascot.
Obviously Gerrick was the spy.
Mathyland was a zookeeper on who is on sick leave after getting bit by a cobra. This zookeeper knows how bad the manager is and thinks he should be replaced by someone who actually knows something about animals.
Hydra was the zoo's incompetent and corrupt owner who only cared about making money off of the zoo, he is also very frustrated at his employees, although the feeling is mutual.
Crushita was a disgruntled concessions vendor who wanted a different job but also knows how bad the owner is and is complaining about him hence the general negativity.
Sapphiron was a trophy hunter who wanted to hunt one of the zoo's animals.
Red Mones was an ecoterrorist who was planning to release all of the animals from the zoo.
Wintermoot was Garfield who was at the zoo because he was sentenced to life in prison for killing Mickey Mouse, the zoo was decided as the location to imprison Garfield.
I thought these roles were played very well. I was actually thinking Gerrick might think the place was an actual prison based off of the things that were being said. If I had been playing I would have been most suspicious of Taulover, Crushita, and Mathyland because they seemed to be giving the most generic answers.
Good game everyone and congrats Gerrick, you really dodged a bullet there. I had a lot of fun coming up with the roles for the game since Spyfall seemed a bit generic and bland to me so I decided to spice things up a bit and throw in some confusion just to add to the chaos that I thought would ensue but did not seem to occur. :o I was laughing to myself after seeing some of the posts that were being made in this game. I was like "Oh Gosh" when Sapphiron started it off with What does the fox say because I thought of there being a double meaning to that question connected to his role that was just a Yikes feeling. Red, Moot, Hydra and Sapph played their roles the best in my opinion. Although Crushita did get better later on in the game. I hope to see a themed game of Spyfall pop up in the future. :)
Good luck in Werewolf to all!
dives back into pile of work
-
Once again, thanks for hosting a new Werewolf. This version probably had the most creative roles yet, and I thought the whole thing was just really well thought out and put together. Thanks for putting together an unique edition of this game. :)

Yeah, this thing we're posting in now lol
-
Yes this is late and you have likely forgotten about this game by now. This is a good question to ask though. What critiques do you have? What could have been done better. What was done fine. What could have been done without? Comments, future recommendations, other stuff?
-
I thought it was very well done. You reminded people when they hadn't posted within like a day. The roles were quite complex, which made it more difficult for the spy, which was good because the spy pretty much always wins. The Garfield killing Mickey Mouse bit might've been a bit much, though. Could've never guessed that. :P

It also made it more difficult for the non-spies though, since there were more suspicious characters.

I actually intended for the game to be confusing and chose to throw in some "red herring" roles just to throw everyone off. :D That's nice to hear that I did cause some confusion.
The talking animal was a role I had planned to have. I just wasn't sure how to make it work but then I realized Garfield is a talking animal that people know about. Why he would be at the zoo, who knows, that was the reasoning behind the backstory. :P This was pretty fun to come up with.
After all Spyfall is a game of suspicion and bluffing.
-
Aye, the roles you have come up with are pretty good. Though as mentioned, my only issue is with Garfield since the players usually expect purely human characters.
