Hey there! Welcome again to... somewhere. One of you here does not know where you are, but will be trying to find out and win the game for him/herself while the rest of you try to figure out and keep information from that person.
Just a recap, you each ask each other questions to try and figure out who the spy is. The person asked a question must respond, and then that person asks another. At any time during a round, one player may accuse another of being a spy. If all other players agree with the accusation, the round ends and the accused player has to reveal his identity. If the spy is uncovered, all other players win. However, the spy can himself end a round by announcing that he understands what the secret location is; if his guess is correct, only the spy wins. You cannot ask another player what the location is or their role, but all other questions are allowed. Also, unless a player has stated a preference not to be notified, please use notifications when asking a question to speed up the game.
If anyone has any questions, feel free to shoot me a PM! As willed by RNGesus, the starting player is @BraveSirRobin!
Naturally, I'll tag @Eldarion @taulover @North @Rasdanation @Gerrick @Wintermoot @Pengu as well.
-
Boy it's beautiful here!!
@taulover how's you're dinner?
-
Had a bit of hot food to warm me up from a day's work. When inspiration strikes, there is no time for a long meal!
@Wintermoot Enjoying your time here?
-
I am! This is exactly the sort of thing I like, and everything is absolutely breathtaking.
@Pengu, what are you doing here?
-
I'm mainly here to dazzle others with my creations, and this is the perfect place for me to see what I can do.
@Gerrick: Did you remember to bring a jacket?
-
Absolutely, sir. It's part of the uniform.
@Rasdanation Are you here for business or pleasure?
-
I'm here on terms of business, making sure that everyone does what they're supposed to do.
@North, how's the temperature of the building today?
-
Oh don't worry sir, the temperature is controlled to be a comfortable temperature.
@BraveSirRobin, how is everything?
-
There are so many things to show people!! It's beautiful!!
@Pengu what're you up to?
-
Oh, just helping bring people together with one of life's simplest pleasures.
@Wintermoot: What's your favorite thing here?
-
I'd say the overall environment and the fact that something like this can even be done. Anyone that knows me knows this is right up my alley.
@Eldarion, what do you think you'll do today here?
-
I'm not quite sure yet! There's too much to do and too little time!
@BraveSirRobin Are you enjoying yourself?
-
Well though I'm not alone with my thoughts and nature I'm still content for the most part! :P
@Gerrick what do you think of the sky?
-
Oh, it's quite beautiful, sir, especially at night. It's a shame that I don't get to spend much time outside to see it as I'm needed here.
@North What kind of shoes are you wearing?
-
Take a look, sir.
@BraveSirRobin, may I ask why your here?
-
Of course! I'm a guide!! This place has many magnificent wonders to behold!!
@Wintermoot Are you enjoying yourself?
-
Yes! Haven't I made that clear yet? It's a joy being able to lounge around and just take in everything here. :)
@North, may I ask why you're here? :P
-
Oh, you know, money. It is my job after all, sir.
@Pengu, is there anything I can do for you, sir?
-
No no, I'm perfectly fine here, though I think there's someone else that needs your attention...can you tell them that I'll be ready for them shortly?
@Gerrick: What can I get for you today?
-
What can you get for me? Uh, I guess a small bite to eat would be nice. Can't really leave my spot here with all the people.
@Eldarion Have any complaints?
-
I feel a bit overworked, but in the end I know its worth it. Right?
@taulover Is there anything you need?
-
No, not really. I bring my own tools, of course, and the people here have already provided me with everything else I need to work.
@Rasdanation What do you think of this place?
-
I really am marveled by what we've accomplished with the place. Overall, though, it's a bit too cold for my liking.
@Pengu How are you feeling today?
-
I'm doing well, I'm glad to see people enjoying themselves.
Eldarion: Are you enjoying the food?
-
@Eldarion
-
You imply I have time to eat at all! I'll probably get something later but for now I have to work!
@North Do you have everything you need?
-
A raise would be nice and assistance would be appreciated but other than that I'm fine.
@Wintermoot, enjoying the Weather, sir?
-
I suppose, though I haven't had much reason to go out yet...the weather is just fine in here, at least for my tastes. :D
@North, what do you like most about what you do here? Your job, as you said.
-
@Wintermoot You can't ask North since he asked you. :P
That player will answer the question and ask any other player a question. In other words, you may not ask the player who asked you a question a question.
-
In fairness, it wasn't clear that was a rule in this game specifically. It wasn't a rule in the game I ran. Hugsim's post is more a guildline for future games than rules for all of them. :P
But in that case, @Eldarion, what do YOU most like about what you're doing here?
-
That, because of all the work I put in, I can enjoy everything running smoothly. Everyone hopefully knows what their doing and where they can help! Though even those thoughts don't help the stress sometimes...
I guess I will help you out Wintermoot and ask North for you :P
@North
What do you like most about what you do here? Your job, as you said.
-
Like? I dont like my job. I have to deal with every stupid request with a smile. Sometimes I want to go berserk. But needs must, I guess.
@Gerrick, how's the work?
-
Oh, not bad at all. I mean, you get the occasional jerk who doesn't know his limit, but most people are decent enough. Nothing to complain about here.
@Rasdanation How well did you sleep last night?
-
I got a nice amount of sleep. Not like I need much energy to do my job though :/
@Eldarion I'm having trouble remembering, what river is nearby our building?
-
@Eldarion
-
Well, I think we may have caught our spy, since we have seen him post elsewhere yesterday, when I asked him about 3 days ago. You'd think he'd respond if he could.
-
OOC: I've sent him two PM's already, so hopefully he'll come around to posting soon.
Are you motioning to vote?
-
-Keeps going to respond
-Internet dies
-Minecraft happens
I am terrible ;-;
Apologies for holding up the game *shakes fist at modded Minecraft* xD
Now! Back to the game!
My memory is as sketchy as yours... Perhaps @North knows what the river is?
-
I spend all of my time inside dealing with you idiots, how would I possibly know where anything outside is, huh?
@Pengu, Enjoy your work?
-
Very much so. It's a little chilly from time to time, but seeing the smile on other's faces is well worth it.
@Gerrick: Do you recall what year this all started?
-
Of course, sir. It all started in 1989.
@Eldarion I had an engaged couple asking me if there were anywhere nearby they could have a wedding. Do you know of a place?
-
Not personally, no, its not my job to know these things! I am rather curious though... If anyone knows it would be @BraveSirRobin who I'm sure would know the answer!
-
Certainly!!
For a fee, of course. There's a wonderful chapel nearby...
@Eldarion is there anywhere I could find a drink? These people are exhausting me...
-
Since he's being bombarded with questions, rather than risking it being true and potentially giving it away...I'm just going to go ahead and call a vote on Eldarion being our spy.
-
Yeah, I agree, so I'm voting for accusing Eldarion as the spy. He should've known that there was a chapel as well as the name of the nearby river (though North didn't know it either...).
Also, BraveSirRobin wasn't able to ask Eldarion a question anyway since Eldarion had just him a question.
-
First the river, then the wedding, only one of those two in which I know, but I do agree, Eldarion did try avoiding both and get someone else to answer the question for him. So, I do think that @Eldarion is our spy ;)
-
Also, BraveSirRobin wasn't able to ask Eldarion a question anyway since Eldarion had just him a question.
Anyway, that's 3/7 for Eldarion. Remember, lynching Eldarion requires a unanimous vote.
-
I vote for Eldarion. Definitely suspicious, and this game's been dragging on for quite some time anyway.
-
I suppose I vote for Eldarion as well. May the force be with us all.
-
I had narrowed my suspicions to Eldarion or North, so I'll vote for him as well.
-
6/7. @North, please vote. :D
-
Well. I vote for Eldarion.
-
And the votes are in!! But the ultimate question is... is Eldarion the spy?
Eldarion was... the spy! :D
Congratulations to the players for figuring out who the spy really was.
Your Location Was: The ICEHOTEL
Roles:
taulover - Ice Sculptor
North - Chief Receptionist
Rasdanation - Operations Manager
BraveSirRobin - Wilderness Guide
Gerrick - Bartender
Wintermoot - Tourist
Pengu - Wilderness Chef
And I do believe that this marks the first time in Wintreath history that the spy has lost! :P
I hope that everyone enjoyed the game! It was a pleasure to host and watch events unravel.
-
Oh hell yeah! We're the best! :D
-
I think what gave it away was that while everyone had subtle hints at the location in their answers (asking about the river, references to the cold atmosphere, the year it was created, etc...) Eldarion's answers were always incredibly vague, normally just talking about work, and the stress of being overworked. That told me that while he may have had a vague notion of an occupation he could pretend to be...he had no idea where we all were. Though I am curious to hear what he would have guessed had we not voted.
-
The Icehotel? I was so fricking confused where we were! XD
Honestly guys, great game, I could not for the life of me figure out where we were, first I thought we were in some sort of art gallery, then a restaurant, then I figured out we were somewhere... touristy, but I had no idea where! Everything you guys said was so fricking vague I couldn't pinpoint where we were, so when more specific questions were thrown my way I just panicked and couldn't come up with an answer. So to sum up everything.
#IAmTheWorstSpy :P
-
Haha, good game, Eldarion.
Another thing that made me suspicious was that at first you were like "There's so much to do!", but afterward you kept going on about how busy you were. This made me think that you were changing what role you acted as having, but then I thought that maybe the first answer was that you had so much you needed to do that you were really busy. I went with my gut, though.
And I'm with Wintermoot: I thought it definitely could've been North. His response to "What type of shoes are you wearing?" was "Look", and he didn't give the answer for the river either.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Torne_(river) (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Torne_(river))
The river continues to Jukkasjärvi, where the Ice hotel is built in winter from the river ice.
If you do a quick Google search, you'll find that the Icehotel is one of the few attractions on that river. I actually thought that we were about to lose when Rasdanation posted that question.
North's answers always felt to me like they were constructed to hide information from the spy, and once I realized that the Icehotel has warm buildings on-site, my suspicions of North decreased dramatically.
I actually suspected Pengu at the beginning. His first answer could have easily fit my role, and it felt like he was drawing heavily from my first post.
I'm mainly here to dazzle others with my creations, and this is the perfect place for me to see what I can do.
@Gerrick: Did you remember to bring a jacket?
I couldn't pin down Pengu's role (his "food" question flew completely over my head, since it's usually a pretty generic Spyfall question) and so I continued to suspect him.
-
Hunh. I even got the wrong ice hotel after the fact xD I thought you guys meant the Ice Hotel in Quebec City during Carnaval, IE the only ice hotel I know of!

Actually, Hydra told us that the winning condition could be any ice hotel, not just The ICEHOTEL.
Your Location: ICEHOTEL in Sweden
ICEHOTEL is the world’s first hotel made of ice and snow located in the Swedish village of Jukkasjärvi. Founded in 1989, it is reborn in a new guise every winter, surviving from December to April. The hotel, including the chairs and beds, is constructed from snow and ice blocks taken from the nearby Torne River. Artists are invited to create different rooms and decorations made by ice. Besides bedrooms, there is a bar, with glasses made of ice and an ice chapel that is popular with marrying couples. The structure remains below freezing, around −5 °C (23 °F). The Torne River, the arts, and creating a setting for life-enriching moments are at the heart of it all. This additional is meant to assist you in answering questions. For the purpose of this game, the spy will only need to specify that they are in an icehotel to win.
-
Is it sad that I didn't even read that bit fully? I went to the actual website to pull up some of the facts for questions.
-
I think that the ice hotel was a great location!! :D
-
Haha, good game, Eldarion.

My answer to the shoe question was phrased that way because I was already screwed if I answered the way a receptionist would answer. If I said "comfy loafers" y'all would have thought that I had no idea where we where. As for the river question, because I didn't bother with research, I thought that the only honest answer was "oh, the frozen lake?" So I made it vague.
-
Well, gg!
The main reason I asked the river question was because it was getting late in the game and I wanted to just ask a question to eliminate a suspect or point out the spy, to get us somewhere closer than where we were in the beginning.

Yeah, I guess the shoes thing makes sense, but it gave the name of the river twice in the Spyfall info PM from Hydra. :P
