I think I mentioned somewhere that Team Liquid hired the first professional Civ VI player back in October, but now that Firaxis has allowed for team play, they're announcing that they're putting together a Civ VI tournament (https://www.teamliquidpro.com/news/2017/02/24/civilization-vi-esports-challenge), based on teams of 3 players, to begin on March 24th. The tournament will utilize their own custom balance mod and map, with the goal of games lasting up to 100 turns. The tournament even has a prize...$500 for first place, $250 for second place, $150 for third place, and $100 for fourth place.
Just thought it was an interesting thing to mention. :)
