Welcome to Red Clay Tavern & Inn, a charming hideaway hidden in the forests of Solvkre, mere miles down the trail from the Eske family’s ancestral seat. Well tended by the Earl’s favorite relation (citation needed) Beiyu, you can feel the bustling energy before your hand meets the door. The air outside is permeated by the scent of herbs, a fragrant selection of fruits imported from the southern border, and… sulfur?
Upon opening the door, you are not met with the party you were once expecting but rather smoke and some very angry cloaked strangers.
“Where is the music, Beiyu?” one spat, “I work my ass off to serve this community- I am the wall between this Inn and its destruction from the Banject Bandits and what do I come home to? Is this the thanks I get?!” The yelling one smashes a glass against the counter while his friends chuckle.
You catch Beiyu’s eye and he looks at you pleadingly, “Fellas, fellas! Please, relax. The repairman has just arrived, I’m sure they can get to the bottom of what happened to our dear music box. I only ask you keep your patienc…”
The cloaks’ mouthpiece turns to face you with an amused twist to his mouth. He looms over you before turning his attention back to Beiyu.
“You have a week before we’re set to hit the road again. Pray you don’t disappoint us.”
Beiyu appreciates your silence and pulls you in for a whisper- “I know someone who can enchant this to play once more but I need sheet music. Something, anything! I’ll pay you in gold. I only have 7 days, please. Help me.”
