As you know from the messages that I sent you, you are...somewhere. Doing...something. But one among you do not know where that somewhere is, and will be trying to find out to win the game for himself or herself, while the rest of you will be trying to deny him or her that information while determining who they are...
Just to recap, this game works by asking questions. The designated person asks a question to a specific person, who then must answer it...then that person asks somebody else a question, and so forth and so on. At any time, the spy may take a guess as to where they are...if they are correct, they win, but if not, everyone else wins. On the other hand, at any time a player may claim that another is the spy, and if the other players vote that they agree, that player's role is revealed. If it's the spy, the players win, but if not, the spy wins. While this may be obvious, I just want to make clear that you cannot ask another player what the location is or their role, but all other questions are on the table. Also, unless a player has stated a preference not to be notified, please use notifications when asking a question of someone so that they know it's their turn.
If you still have questions about the game, please feel free to message me or look through the previous games for examples of how it was played. But it's simple, right? So let's go! By virtue of random selection @Gerrick has been selected to ask the first question of someone. :)
Also mentioning @Eldarion, @xXTheHydraXx, @taulover, @Rasdanation, @Pengu, @Malviet, @North, @BraveSirRobin, and @Bodobol to make sure they know that the game has started.
-
@Pengu How long have you been here?
-
I don't recall, actually...time really has no meaning here.
@North: What is there to do here?
-
Oh, dear sir, what is there not to do! The restaurant where you can get world class meals, the ballroom where we're hosting a masquerade ball tomorrow, the list is truly endless, sir! I'm sure you'll find something that will be of interest to you here, sir! Now, I hope you'll excuse me, sir, I've just received a telegram.
@BraveSirRobin, what brings you out here this fine day, my dear friend?
-
I'm going on holiday with my boys! It'll certainly be interesting!!
@xXTheHydraXx, how's it going, old boy?
-
It's going good! No problems that I can see! Now I should get back to work lest problems arise!
@Eldarion Do you like it here?
-
I love it! Truly there is no better place to explore my passion then here. Oh the wonders here! It makes me giddy just thinking about it.
@taulover Are you enjoying yourself?
-
Not really. The working conditions are terrible, and the quarters are cramped, but hey, a job's a job, right?
@Rasdanation How was your meal last night?
-
It was fabulous! Our chef is one of the best I've ever seen!
@Bodobol did you get much sleep last night?
-
With everything there is to do? I didn't even think of sleeping until late into the night!
@Malviet What are you planning to do with your day?
-
Oh the usual! Catering with rich, mindless idiots and trying to get properly paid for the hard work.
@Eldarion How was your day?
-
Wonderful! Though a bit tiring. Slept in rather late, was up all night. Still, when you're on the cutting edge, there is little time for sleep.
@Gerrick Have you eaten well?
-
Better than I usually do in this position since the food's quite good here, but I often have to have someone remind me as I'll forget.
@xXTheHydraXx how's the view where you are?
-
The view is great where I am, especially considering my job, although it sometimes gets monotonous.
@Pengu How did you get here this morning?
-
I think I...walked? No, maybe I caught a tram or something...Sorry, I'm having a little trouble remembering at the moment. The prospect of being here has pretty much robbed me of the trifle remembrances of how I came to be here. Hell, I can't even recall the date right now.
@North: What is there to eat around here?
-

@North: What is there to eat around here?
Oh sir, have no fear, we have plenty to eat, especially our specialty, fresh cod straight from the sea! You'll never eat cod this good again, you have my word, sir!
@Gerrick, what do you think of your accommodations, sir?
-
As I said before, this place is beautiful, and it's the best I've ever had it before, but I tend to just stay here at my post as I don't much trust anyone else to cover for me. Who knows what'd happen if they happened to stop paying attention or - God forbid - doze off.
@Pengu It sounds like you're not doing so well. Why don't you just go home?
-
Come now, you know why I can't do that right now.
@Gerrick: What might happen if they were to doze off?
-
Come now, you know why I can't do that right now.
@Gerrick: What might happen if they were to doze off?
Ahem...
In other words, you may not ask the player who asked you a question a question.
I, however, would at this time like to claim that Pengu is the spy and vote as such.
-
Ah yes, I actually forgot that one rule. :))
Anyways, sure. If you want the real spy to win the game since, if you think about it, my answers from the start (since I had the first answer) to end were specifically tailored to the setting in exactly how they were written to fit the scenario.
However, if and when your bout to out the incorrect player fails, I'll gladly turn that table and claim that @Gerrick is actually the spy, given the curious nature of a question of his that he asked.
-
Actually, I had my suspicions on two people, Pengu and someone else (who I shall keep anonymous for now)
Just because I don't really know how this would work, so now are we saying who we think it is?
Edit: After looking back at the rules I see that we vote and if the majority agrees on any single person then the game ends, anyways at this point, I will have to Not agree with Gerrick or Pengu as of I haven't seen enough answers from anyone else to be sure on my decision.
Edit #2: The one main reason I'm not voting for Pengu is infact because of his last answer, where as he did say in a post, matched the setting almost perfectly, but he could've had a lucky guess if he was spy.
-
One thing Pengu said has made me extremely suspicious of him. We don't have much, but I feel like he has given himself away if he truly is the spy...
I agree with Gerrick and vote against Pengu
-
Well considering Ras has decided not to agree to either side, it's kind of moot to continue on that train since all other players have to agree with the vote.
In other words, let's just continue.
@Malviet: What do you plan to do once this is over?
-
I dunno, I've no plans yet. Maybe I'll just stay; I can do work where the view is beautiful.
@BraveSirRobin What do you do to pass the time?
-
I spend a good deal of time looking at the horizon and pondering the meaning of life, the universe and everything. But I also take time to tour the luxurious facilities as well!!
-
@xXTheHydraXx how's your food?
-
My food's great and hearty! If you were wondering, it definitely helps fuel me for my job.
@Rasdanation, what've you been up to?
-
Oh, the usual, seeing the sights, enjoying my stay, and making this trip one that I'll never forget!
@BraveSirRobin I haven't gone outside since I've gotten here. How is it outside temperature-wise?
-
I would say that it's tolerable. It's a bit too cool for my liking, though. The breeze is nice though!!
@Pengu how's your family?
-
They're well. I sort of left them behind when I came here, but I'm just ready to start things over, start fresh.
@Bobodol: What kind of music is there around here?
-
@Bobodol
Seems the mention didn't work! No wonder there hasn't been any progress!
-
Oh and I pulled a Pengu!
Redo!
@Bodobol
-
(I think I may have one of the hardest names in NS to remember, besides those with subtle misspellings. :P )
Only the most exquisite! I'm too distracted to really pay attention to it most of the time, but when I do pay attention I find it easy to lose myself in it.
@BraveSirRobin What do you think of the people here?
-
Aye, I'd say that most of the people here are great, but there are quite a few overly sumptuous people here, I'd say.
@taulover what're you up to?
-
No time for relaxation down here, gotta keep working to make sure everything is running smoothly... And after a hard day's work, all I can do really is collapse on my cramped bunk. So yeah, that's what I've been doing.
@Malviet What did you do this morning?
-
Catering for the demands of the rich, wealthy jackasses!
@North What are you going to do tomorrow?
-
Tomorrow will be more of the same, delegating all of my work and kowtowing with the rich and powerful! What a job.
@Bodobol How are you finding it so far?
-
Hello hello hello! I am quite disoriented right now, so I must ask...
Are we on a cruise liner in the late nineteenth / early twentieth century?
-
/me claps
Technically, it was an Olympic-class liner, but you pretty much nailed it. Congratulations, Bodobol, the spy, has outwitted everyone else and done whatever it was he was supposed to do here. xD
I hope everyone enjoyed the game, and I hope that someone will take up the mantle of hosting the next game of Spyfall. It's a very low-maintenance game to host...once it starts, it practically runs itself. :)

Well, didn't see that coming.
Could you reveal the other roles?
-
Of course...here are the roles. :)
Bodobol - Spy
BraveSirRobin - Second Class Passenger
Eldarion - Radio Operator
Gerrick - Quartermaster
Malviet - Steward
North - Captain
Pengu - Third Class Passenger
Rasdanation - First Class Passenger
taulover - Stoker
xXTheHydraXx - Lookout
-
After werewolf I'd love to host one! Though I really should do darkest dungeon soon...
-
Hello hello hello! I am quite disoriented right now, so I must ask...
Are we on a cruise liner in the late nineteenth / early twentieth century?
Also, what tipped you off?
-
Wow, I'm kinda surprised I actually got it! That was fun, I really enjoyed playing. :D

Your first response let me know that it was some classy rich person getaway thing. BSR confirmed with his first response that it was a vacation. Taulover's first response was the first one that made me focus in on it being a cruise, because the cramped worker quarters seemed to fit with the cruise liner. Rasda's first response made me think it was a cruise, too, because I went on a cruise over spring break and our food & waiters were absolutely amazing. :P
Hydra was when I really started to think it was a cruise, because the combination of a magnificent view and bad working conditions fits the cruise theme pretty well. I thought I had it figured out about then, but then your response about having "cod straight from the sea" made me think we weren't on a cruise for a while. I guess I just wasn't expecting something so obvious. :P
BSR confirmed again that there was a great view and there were luxurious facilities. And as for the time period: that was easy, I could tell that from your first response ("Now, I hope you'll excuse me, sir, I've just received a telegram").
-
Hehe...and that's how you outplay the crowd. xD
Very impressive...probably the most impressive and comprehensive Spyfall win yet.
-
Wow, nicely done, Bodobol. I didn't really suspect you at all.
Pengu - Third Class Passenger
Holy shit, Pengu, I finally get your responses. That's fucking hilarious :))

I actually kinda rushed my conclusion because I figured after I was asked two questions pretty close to each other that people were getting suspicious. Figured I'd rather risk being wrong than risk being uncovered by everyone else. :P
Also I agree, Pengu's answers are so much better in context.
-
Indeed! I'm happy I was weird enough not give anything away but not draw attention (I was asked what, twice?)

Well, I wanted to leave at least some clues.....
-
Good game guys! Also well played Bodo ;D
-

Pengu - Third Class Passenger
Holy shit, Pengu, I finally get your responses. That's fucking hilarious :))
The reason I thought you were the spy was because you told me I should go home in one of your questions. I was like "I can't exactly do that, since I'm on a boat and all. He'd know that if he knew we were on a boat..."
And it threw me in a loop because it was February of an unspecified year. We only knew that we were riding a ship crafted in the early 20th century, but that it wasn't a specific historical vessel. Depending on the year would dictate both the style of car as well as if it was something anyone of any class could afford or not...or if I'd have to sneak on the back of a tram. It didn't give me too many options since the status of a third class person was different depending on the decade, so I had to be incredibly vague with my answers. :))
Good job though Bodobol, I thought for sure it was going to be Gerrick.
-
Yeah that question was to throw you off in case you were the spy. You might trip up and say something that gives you away.
-
So, when should we do another round?
