Ran across this on Reddit and thought it was an interesting article...there's been so much progress in the Western world in the last few decades, it's easy to forget that the LGBT movements for acceptance in other parts of the world are fledgling. This is an article about a Chinese group that hosts an event where gay people can come out to their parents in a supportive environment...this year, the event had to be booked as a cruise in international waters and Japan to ensure the Chinese government couldn't shut it down. Still, the outcome of many of the children/parents covered in the story is heartening, so there may be promise yet.

And it's interesting that despite China not exactly being at the forefront of gay rights, a Chinese company owns grindr.

Doesn't matter if you like gay people or not, as long as you can make money off of them...
