I'm not sure why this image already exists, but apparently I don't have to MSPaint anything again this month.

It's a pretty well-known joke on reddit. Check out the Emu War Flashbacks sub.

I typically avoid reddit.... unless I want a reminder of what being on the internet was like in the 90's, where it was mostly text because images loaded slowly when only dial-up was an option, and it was hard to find anyone who wasn't a youngish white male. Just need to change their symbol to the yellow running guy symbol of AOL and link to Geocities more and it would be perfect.
Also, even for reddit, that sounds like a really weird and specific sub reddit.

Australia literally lost a war against Emus, despite having machine guns and everything. People being people, we will never miss an opportunity to make fun of it.

And reddit is actually very nice. Even when people disagree there (which happens all the time) it doesn't descend into the same levels of toxicity you would usually expect from the Internet. I don't see reddit as being that much different from the rest of the Internet when it comes to its general user base either, as the Internet is usually dominated by young males. Even on NS.

That's what makes reddit so good. There's basically a subreddit for everything, all with radically different cultures and practices. There's even a subreddit for that phenomenon.

One of my favorites is /r/AskHistorians, which often doesn't even feel like a part of reddit, given its incredibly strict moderation policy (for quality control of answers from actual historians).

Another is /r/HFY, simply for the massive quantity of high-quality writing in that oddly specific sci-fi genre. Or /r/mealtimevideos, for longer-form videos to watch while you eat. Also got things more personal, like /r/asianamerican (and there are at least a few dozen LGBT subreddits).

But simply put, if there's conceivably a community of people focused on something, there's probably a subreddit for that.

Edit: correction - there are a few dozen subreddits in the /r/LGBT and /r/ainbow sidebars alone
