Wintreath October Underhusen Election

Voting for the Underhusen elections are now open! You can vote for up to five candidates for Underhusen. You may also vote for fewer people by writing in "Abstain" on any slot you don't want to fill with a candidate. You may post your ballot in this topic, or PM it to me if you wish for your ballot to remain private. Ballots will be counted and the results will be given at the end of the elections on 7 October 2017. Good luck to all our candidates!

The 3 who want it enough to start topics for it probably deserve it most.
I don't see Ozymandias in the list though, are they not really running? If not, ignore that one. Edit: Nvm.
Of those who remain, may as well pick the two I recognize, I know Mathyland from another region and I think Pengu seemed active enough at some point.

Not complaining or requesting that you do it differently, just want to ask: Did something happen to force the option sending in votes privately as an option? Seemed somewhat cowardly to me at first, like if you care about this enough to vote you should be willing to say it, but then I realized, that maybe someone in the past actually has harassed people for not voting for them before? I haven't seen that happen here in this region, but I have seen it happen elsewhere on Nationstates. Then there was the one harasser guy from before whose name I forgot, "Giv" something, though that was very different harassment, but still got me thinking that it might have happened here with someone else. I would like to that hope nobody running as a candidate for this is doing anything bad like that, but maybe I just wasn't around to see it. If it did happen, maybe just to be safe I'll make my votes private too next time.

Though then again, I've been pleasantly surprised before, the second reason I had for staying here after seeing you were pro-LGBT here was my first impression of a werewolf game, where nobody argued or fought at all, when my impression was that you can't have a forum Werewolf game without someone causing trouble. Even with the weird shenanigans going on in some of them, which I thought were interesting and fun myself, I was sure if that in certain other forum crowds, they would have complained about the surprises and rule changes, they'd probably complain about your Mage Wars thing too, easy for me to view them saying "You didn't specify that before I joined" "How do I know you aren't biased?" "We should restart with the new rules" and other things to the effect of "This forum I login to 15 minutes a day is serious business!". That Spyfall game too, as part of the Summer event. I thought the revelation at the end was hilarious and it's funny to look back at all our posts, but I can very easily imagine some people I've met elsewhere who wouldn't have liked that reveal and would have demanded a "real" Spyfall game.
But... maybe that's part of why I left those forums. So it's hard to imagine that happening here with the voting, after seeing it not happen with other things here. Even though it would explain it.

We've always had private voting...it's something that was offered in Spiritus that just transferred over when we started Wintreath. Nothing specifically prompted it, but some people would rather vote in private...we tend to have a few people who do so every election.

But yes, I have on occasion had some people PM me asking me why I didn't vote for them (weird), or why I changed my vote away from them (makes more sense). And for me personally, that's probably one of the main reasons why I sometimes choose to take advantage of the secret ballot.
