What was your first Steam game?

My first game was Portal...in fact, a friend told me they were offering it for free, and that's why I got Steam to start with. I think they only had a few games at the time on Steam, and for a long time I just had that one game on it...but now like most people I have hundreds.

Looks like I bought several on the same day during the 2013 Summer Sale:
Deus Ex, Postal 2, and a Stronghold bundle, then I bought Civilization V Gods & Kings two days later.

I'm up to 368 games four years later.

Portal 2, which my sister was more excited to get but I ended up playing more of.

It was either Civ V, or Dawn of War II. I can't really remember which, but I have a niggling suspicion it's the former.
Naturally it's spiraled totally out of control since then.

I don't have Steam.

(Yes I know, how strange...)

Terraria

Oddly, it was Left 4 Dead 2. It was okay, I like co-op vs CPU games. Community is about as toxic as in many other online games though, stay away from it and play single player or only with friends.

But it was somewhere around finding out about Steam sales that I unknowingly became an elitist PC gamer when I rarely used the PC for games before. Why own a XBone or PSWhateverNumberTheyAreOnNow when I can get better versions on Steam? Haven't even bought the Switch yet and I really want one because I still have some Humble Bundle games I want to try first.

I blame Skyrim and Civ V, which I apparently have the most hours in. Though now I feel like I could have saved $100 if I knew about Steam Sales before buying those, wish someone had told me about that earlier... but still cheaper and better than what I was doing before. Now $60 for some console game I may not even like feels ridiculous.

Civ V. I bought it on DVD from the store, and I was expecting you would install it from the DVD, but still have to put the DVD in your computer when you wanted to play. (Like with the Civ IV DVD I have) But no the DVD just has a really outdated version of Steam for you to install.

First Steam game I played? Christ, I dont even remember.....

I think it was.... Empire: Total War? Or was it Fistful of Frags?

Morrowind. I absolutely hate the combat system, though, so I had to turn to Morroblivion.

You just need to get the hang of it. It's stat based, not skill based. If you have a shit sword stat you aren't going to hit anything with a sword.

Odd, I thought if there was something to complain about in Morrowind, it was that ridiculous level up system where you need to follow a guide to ensure that you're not increasing your stats by 2 on level up instead of 5 each time.
