I know it's a 70 question quiz on the Internet, but I thought it lacked precision and some questions reminded me of mydemocracy.ca

Examples :

It is more important to retain peaceful relations than to further our strength.

What if I agree with the famous saying si vis pacem, para bellum? If I were Supreme Leader, I would militarize my country, except give up the sovereign right to declare war, like Japan. The armed forced would never take a single step outside the border unless attacked and most of their time would be spent doing civil service. However, this question forces me to choose between peace and military strength, when military strength may very well act as a deterrent and ensure peace.

Wars do not need to be justified to other countries.

Offensive wars or defensive wars? Offensive wars cannot be justified, yet I think nearly any action that is defensive in nature (except use of WMDs and similar) need not be justified.

Reason is more important than maintaining our culture.

This one is particularly bad, because I can't think of any probable situation where maintaining a country's dominant culture isn't the reasonable thing to do.

I dunno, it seemed to me that the questions here were intentionally intended to be more philosophical than policy-oriented.

For instance, that first question doesn't ask you to choose between peace and militarization; rather, it asks whether you value peace or broadening power more. So for countries that have military strength to maintain peace, like Switzerland throughout much of its history, I'd argue that they value peaceful relations more, as that is their end goal.

As for the second, wouldn't defense be justification in and of itself?

And the third statement seems to be, in part at least, asking whether you view reason and culture as opposed to one another. Though on the other hand there's also the implication that culture might hinder progress. So yeah, the wording is perhaps too vague here.

Did not think I was this Libertarian.
Thought I would be more Socialist and even less of a Nationalist.
