Anyone taking part in the Nuclear Apocalypse?

New Hyperion's already gotten started apparently (there's been a bit of discussion on our Discord).

Basically you join a faction to enter the war, upon joining a faction you create prodcution which then must be spent on either Nukes or Shields, you can target a nation and send nukes their way, although they take 10 minutes to target. shields allow you to shoot down nukes, thus keeping you safe, however you have to manually do it.

To be fair, it could be argued that under Article I, Section 1 New Hyperion is not allowed to form any form of military, that being left to Wintreath.

Hence my, non serious, wondering.

On the other hand, New Hyperion is bound by treaty to "provide all available military assets" to Wintreath. We just don't have any authority over it.

To be fair under Article I, they also cede sovereignty to Wintreath, and thus this is an issue for a Wintrean court to decide if we ever wanted to go that far Although this is me being less serious here.

I admit, I feel like we dropped the ball on this one...we did no planning to get involved in this event beforehand, and there was nobody in place to get things going quickly when it started. There should have been both, and there should have been communication with our allies and vassals to get something going jointly, and...we dropped the ball. I'm sorry, after the event I'm going to make sure we're prepared to participate in future events.

As it stands, NH is much further along than Wintreath is (which is nowhere), so I would recommend joining their faction if you want to be part of the nuclear war.

Or WZSB's...actually I would suggest joining Warzone Asia's they were actually on the top 5 earlier, and are still in the top 10!

Had we all gone under one faction, that would've been cool, but unfortunately there was no way to know that this wouldn't be region-based until it started, and fast diplomacy has never been Wintreath's strong point even if we had been on-point...

In any case, too late now.

Last night it looked all the top factions weren't even nuking, they were just stockpiling nukes and shooting down incomings. I guess that's a good strategy?

I really hope this event becomes an annual thing (or even more often). The zombie apocalypse should stay as well.

I'd say I did great during the apocalypse! My faction was 70th place, and it was completely made out  of 14 of my puppets (I knew making all those puppets would pay off one day! ). I picked off some weak factions of single nations and I killed about 22 nations. I got to 50th place for most nukes because I had 2,200 total. Then, NATO attacked my faction and completely destroyed it because they had 300 nations. I fired all my nukes at them (and killed 4 of them) and used all my shields, and I survived for awhile. All of my nations were targeted, so I couldn't get them out, but through some strategizing I managed to get 3 nations out before everything was annihilated. It took about an hour for them to actually destroy me with everyone targeting me, so I think I did well. After awhile, I joined back with my three nations (that had 96-98% radiation), but someone from NATO noticed me and destroyed them all.

I like to think of it like I was so good and important that the third best faction (at the time) was attacking me. And you might be wondering why the North Atlantic Treaty Organization was attacking me without being provoked, and that is probably because my faction name was "Kill 'em Dead." So I was killed because that was my faction name XD.
