Billy has been glancing Volvo commercials for a while now, waiting for the excuse.

This game is way more in-depth than I thought. I didn't expect there'd be an actual trap in it, let alone this early. Looks like I've been thinking about it wrong, but I like it. It's more fun than I expected.

Billy likes the idea of a carpool because it's good for the environment. As such, he thinks it's a good idea. Since he's paying for his own fuel at the moment anyway, there's no significant extra cost to his paying for the fuel and it could be fun to talk to some people in the same field as him. I mean yeah, that Volvo looks good, but at the end of the day, he doesn't need it and it's money better spent on company stocks and tomato soup.

Sometimes, Billy thinks he hears voices in his head, arguing about what he should be doing. one voice even talking about the dice. One of the voices sounds like something out of a nightmare and talks of untold horrors and the end of all things...
But you know what? This tomato soup is really good... Billy wonders if it's the prepackaged stuff or if they make it here? The canteen serves really good food, so he guesses it can't be premade, right?

Didn't know the best place to put this but decided the dumping grounds would be best cause this could get a little spammy.

I would've put it in the Amalyan Quarter, since most non-spammy (and votes aren't exactly spamming; Werewolf does similar) forum games end up there. (I still think that really old merge of it with the Frostmist Arena was a bad choice.)

I was originally going to do that... But I can't create sub-boards and well... Everything over there is so official looking...  This is very hands off, it could keep going with just me, but I thought it would attract more of an audience here and be more obvious that it's not necessarily a culture thing... Just something I am doing because I enjoy it.

So with whoever was around in IRC when I posted it's recommendations (cause I expressed all this there at the time) I posted it here

Although tomato soup is a glorious meal, getting a new car now would be a good investment. He is 26 after all. His university car has seen better days.

So we learned that MCC is actually a crappy company, because especially tech companies realize that the best way to advance in the needs of the company is to invest in its employees. The fact that his manager would intentionally make him choose between the two is...meh, maybe he can get a job at Google once he's trained. xD

I'm going to throw my lot with [2] Offer to pay for fuel each week instead of driving. I mean, I want Billy to socialize as much as the next person, but buying a new car to be able to do so is a bit...out there. It almost feels like a peer pressure thing. I'm sure these people don't need help with the gas money...they are top engineers after all, but at least it's a nice gesture. It shows he wants to get to know them without breaking the bank to do so. If they turn him down, it's on them, not him.

Also moved this to the Amalyan Quarter, since this is more cultural event than spam game now.

Gotta remember this game is set in the 70s just now, Billy would have been in uni in the 60s and was probably born in the post war period. The game I'm using was made in 1982 as well. So the setting I think is meant to be a little hyperbolic but it's also a product of the times.
