Well, with an open assembly, everyone would be in the legislature, so people wouldn't have to go through the process of running or worry about their activity level since there's so few seats in the UH.

There would still be officer elections, though.

If I accept my nomination, I know I wouldn't really campaign, which is kind of depressing. It would be even more depressing if I actually got in, then.

At this point, I feel like campaigns don't really do much. People will already vote for who they will.

At this point, I feel like campaigns don't really do much. People will already vote for who they will.

Officer elections would still probably be between fewer people, and at least less often (every three months as opposed to every two). And campaigns are still quite useful for those emerging in the legislature and have ideas they want panned out when they don't have a record to run on.

With that, I suppose I'll stand and simultaneously thank @Laurentus for his nomination of me. While these past two months have been a down period for me, over the summer I should be more active, and I want to get serious region-wide discussions restarted. By running, I'm showing that there is unfinished business to complete.

I accept my nomination, seeing as the field of candidates is rather low in number. I'm just going to say that I urge everyone who can run to do so, as I'm not going to campaign, and would thus not be an inspiring choice. Should I get in, I'll probably just vote on the bills that come along.

Meh. I want the choice of people to be larger....

Since we have a decent number now, I'll say thank you @Laurentus for the nomination, but I'll decline.

Right now I need to focus both on real life affairs as well as my Ministry duties for my area...the latter lagging a bit behind lately because of the former being a bigger part lately with my job.  At this point in time, I don't have enough energy to do a sufficient job in another area and wouldn't be able to devote my all into the UH.

Thanks for the nomination, but I will be declining.
