  • I like it, but I worry that the fact that diplomat abandon their national citizenships will cause major political issues in their home countries.

  • Maybe the name should be more Scandinavian lol

Supposedly he is a North Gralend politician, like I said McAllen is just supposed to be a temporary place holder unless everyone is OK with him being Speaker of the Nations, and that's assuming everyone is OK with the current model.

And some other pesky guy took Dag Hammerskold :]

Oh no no no, not the delegates, they don't abandon citizenship, just the people who directly work for the Union.

  • Thanks for clarifying!
I'll probably write my factbook up tomorrow and save it in a word processor until we figure out where to post them.

  • The Unified Soviet Republics of Robbia
    Proletarians of the World, Unite!!

    Introduction
Formed more than two centuries ago as the result of an incompetent Imperial Family and massive corporate exploitation of the populace, the Unified Soviet Republics of Robbia began as a revolt of university students in the capital, Gorod Imperatora (renamed Gorod Revolyutsii).  It gradually spread across the Robbian Empire, but did not gain complete control of the Empire until the Imperial Guard turned on the Emperor and massacred the remaining nobility in the months afterward.

This unexpected turn of events was largely a result of the mostly conscripted military refusing to kill the revolting proletariat, which expedited the revolution and increased the stability of the successor state quite substantially.
    Geography
The Unified Soviet Republics of Robbia are quite diverse geographically, with a great deal of arable land on the flatter northern and western halves of the subcontinent, and with most extractive industries (forestry, logging, mining) concentrated in the mountain range on the southern half west of the isthmus of Robbia.

Natural hazards are generally limited to rockslides and extreme temperatures in the mountain ranges, with a limited degree of volcanism and earthquakes concentrated again in the region with the largest number of mines and forests.

Environmentally, the agricultural regions in the north and in the west are much more environmentally stable.  Most heavy industry is concentrated near the large iron mines in the southeast mountain range, and consequently that area suffers from the most pollution problems.  The Party, however, is working on decreasing greenhouse gas emissions, and the country is rapidly moving to more reliable and cheaper nuclear power from Thorium reactors.

    Government
The government of the Unified Soviet Republics begins and ends with the Party.  All power comes from and enters into it.  Began after the revolution and the disposal of the imperial family, the Communist Party of Robbia seized control of the society almost as quickly as the previous power in the society was destroyed, again, largely a result of support from the former imperial military.  A new system of government was devised, consisting of a unicameral legislature (The Supreme Soviet of Unified Workers), a meritocratic bureaucracy (various subsections of the departments that each have seats on the Central Committee in accordance with their importance to the survival of the soviet state), the Central Committee of the Unified Soviet Republics, and the de facto executive of the entire country: the General Secretary of the Communist Party and President of the United Soviet Republics of Robbia.

The Supreme Soviet of Unified Workers
The supreme legislative body of the Unified Soviet Republics, its power is, in theory, second to none.  It consists of 2242 delegates from the various provinces of the Republics, with the delegates being divided in proportion to the population of each province.
Central Committee of the Unified Soviet Republics
Nominated by their respective department councils and confirmed by the Supreme Soviet of Unified Workers, the Central Committee controls most of the running of the country, as they have traditionally been the most powerful force in the country since the revolution, originally a result of the Supreme Soviet of Unified Workers only meeting once per year, at the People's Congress.  But as the Supreme Soviet begins to operate more like a full time legislature, the Central Committee's power has weakened; this is largely the result of a great influx of new, idealistic provincial legislators.  However, it is unlikely that this fresh blood in the traditionally meritocratic system will affect much, as all candidates must be vetted by the Party before running for election.  There are approximately 70-90 members of the Central Committee at any one time.
General Secretary of the Party and President of the Unified Soviet Republics of Robbia
The highest office in the entirety of the Unified Soviet Republics, the General Secretary of the Communist Party and President of the Unified Soviet Republics is a member of the Standing Committee of the Central Committee, and is elected by a 2/3 vote of the Central Committee.  S/he is then confirmed by a simple majority vote of the Supreme Soviet of Unified Workers.

The General Secretary and President is the supreme commander of all Soviet military forces, and also the direct head of the RUSIB, to ensure that the agency remains loyal to the government, and not vice-versa.
    Economy
    Energy
    Communications
    Transport
    Military and Security
As they see themselves constantly threatened by an invasion of the greedy capitalist bourgeoisie, the Unified Soviet Republics invest heavily in their military forces, and maintain strategic bunkers across their territory.

    Unified Soviet Army
Though the largest armies ever fielded on the land now currently occupied by the glorious Unified Soviet Republics of Robbia, the Unified Soviet Army is actually one of the more underfunded sections of the Soviet Armed Forces, but it makes up for it with sheer size.  The Unified Soviet Army contains nearly 16,000,000 soldiers and first-tier reservists, as most young males choose to serve in the Army for their compulsory two-year national service.  (Most females go into medicine or education, two highly respected fields in Soviet society, but females are not allowed into the very socially conservative Soviet Army.)

All Soviet Army personnel are sorted into the Army's 646 different divisions of 25,000 soldiers and support personnel, with each division specialising in a different type of warfare or combat support role.  (Ex:  Airborne, Seebees, Urban Warfare, Jungle Warfare, Armoured Warfare, Artillery, etc.)
    Unified Soviet Navy
The Soviet Navy is the one of the highest, if not the highest, priority of the Unified Soviet Republics when it comes to security.  Well funded and excellently maintained, the Navy is without a doubt the first line of steel that anyone foolish enough to attack the motherland must penetrate in order to reach the coasts of mother Robbia.  The forces of the Unified Soviet Navy are unparalleled; and no service is willing to go further to ensure that the Unified Soviet Republics of Robbia are able to continue the Glorious Revolution of the World's Workers than the Navy.

Much of the Unified Navy's budget is concentrated on submarine and aircraft carrier construction, as power projection and deterrence are the highest priorities of the state.
    Unified Air Force
Though it lags behind the Unified Soviet Navy in terms of funding, and though its aircraft are largely out of date, UAF strategy relies heavily on large quantities of fighter and bomber aircraft, and place less emphasis on technological air superiority.
    Robinian Unified Soviet Intelligence Bureau
One of the greatest stabilisers of the Unified Soviet Republics, RUSIB controls both the borders of the Unified Soviet Republics and operates frequently in government-controlled corporations to ensure that fear outweighs the prospect of riches for executives of state corporations.  (Persons found abusing their positions of authority are brutally dealt with by RUSIB.  The organisation certainly isn't known for its compassion and understanding.)
    Ballistic Missile Command
With control over the mainstay of the Soviet Nuclear Deterrent (550 land-based ICBMs), the Soviet ABM supply, and over the entirety of Soviet anti-satellite and anti-aircraft capabilities, BMC is a generally defence-oriented section of the military, with its chief mission being to ensure that no country may carry out a first strike operation against the Unified Soviet Republic without they themselves being destroyed as well.
    State Satellite Agency
A well-oiled intelligence gathering and propaganda-dispensing machine, the SSA is sufficiently funded and also maintains a civilian research department with the eventual goal of colonising the cosmos.  Currently the manned space programme is undergoing a massive revitalisation, as it has been concluded by the SSA that a newer, cheaper form of manned spaceflight may be reached by temporarily suspending the programme and diverting all funds from what would be actual flights to the manned space programme's research department.  So far the results are promising, and a modernised, efficient design seems possible in the next decade.
    Transnational Issues
The Unified Soviet Republics, on a transnational scale, neither seeks large numbers of allies nor operates puppet governments; the Communist Party of Robbia believes that the operation of puppet governments is more expensive than simply diverting funds directly to the Soviet Military for defence.

The main concern of the Unified Soviet Republics internationally is the maintenance of stable international trade, which they are willing to go to great lengths for.  Recently, a committee on trade and commerce recommended to the Office of the Central Commissar of Trade that the older nuclear submarines, rather than being scrapped, should be refitted as underwater cargo vehicles, and the plan is actually being looked into.

  • Yaim Rusur Factbook

    Government
Yaim Rusur is a democratic socialist nation with the leader of the nation known as the Adate'lore. Government and the state owns all industry.
    Military
Yaim Rusur has a very powerful military for its population density, as everyone, male or female, is in service, arms industry is very powerful with many tanks and armored transports as well as an acceptable navy and Air force. the population acts as a form of militia with combat skills taught from a young age in schools.

    Ground Forces
The Yaim Rusurian Ground Forces known as the Trat'adeshalar, are the most funded branch of the military and are comprised of most of the citizens Yaim Rusur has at that moment. The soldiers (Verde) are trained from birth to be brutally efficient in combat, and are skilled in many forms of weapons and martial arts. The armored vehicles utilized by the Ground Forces are some of, if not, the best in Wintreath, with no obvious drawbacks in firepower, protection, crew comfort, or mobility. There are 10 separate Main Battle tanks in service, each designed for a specific type of war, 20 APC, with varying levels of armament, and another 30 different AFV types for individual types of  missions. The Army itself is broken up into 5 categories: Armored Core (usage of vehicles), Foot Troops (Armed with standard rifles and other weapons), Marksmen Core (Snipers, DMRs, and anti materiel rifles), Air core (Purely ground support aircraft, though this also includes removal of enemy ground attack aircraft), and the Supercommandos, called the Ori'ramikad. These troops are the most deadly and highly lethal. they carry out missions such as assassinations, search and rescue, search and recover, search and destroy, and key location capture and protection operations. It was with these troops that Yaim Rusur became a nation and continued to grow, by cutting off command with the ori'ramikad and then steamrolling the rest of the enemy with ground forces.
    Airforce
The Yaim Rusurian Airforce ( Abiik'traat) is nothing shorter than acceptable. It is comprised of planes that have undergone some of the most intense modernization programs in history, as new plane designs are decided to be non-necessary by the High Command (Essentially the Yaim Rusurian Parliament though much smaller) of the Yaim Rusurian army. The main aircraft is the C-37(2) figher bomber, C standing for can'gal, fighter aircraft in the Yaim Rusurian dialect of Mando'a. This aircraft resembles quite strongly the real life Q-5 Fatan chinese plane, with differences in the nose, wings and weaponry.
    Navy
Without a doubt the most pitifully underfunded portion of the Yaim Rusurian military. The Navy only possess 3 Battleships, and while quite heavily armed and armored, lacks speed provided by modern ships. The cruisers are in much better shape, but there is also a limited number of these as well. There is one class of craft, developed indgenuously, called mortar ships. These craft resemble a wider and taller cruiser, with a large flat deck in the front and the bridge in the back. The deck can open revealing a 600mm short barreled howitzer, which is very effective at firing indirectly at enemy ships and directly if needed. The most common however are battle cruisers, with 30 in use. The Yaim Rusurian version of these vessels carry one turret with dual 14 inch (360mm) cannons, and 4 turrets containing smaller caliber canons: One turret with a 203mm autoloading cannon, two with 170mm guns, and a final turret with 152mm gun. The Battlecruisers also carry a anti air weapon system with a rotary 30mm cannon for fast craft, 4 57mm guns for slower aircraft, and missiles as a anti-ship missile defense. The Navy also has several aircraft carriers that dual serve as troop carriers until they need to be deployed by landing craft

    Economy
The economy is driven very strongly by the Arms Industry, with most funding going towards Defense, and we are willing to sell to other less armed nations. The national currency is the ve'vut, and the ve'vut is equal to .4 Euros.

    People
Very patriotic, and have a strong sense of brotherhood, and all people are viewed as equals. Difference between male and female is purely sexual, and women often take offense when referred to as dainty or cute, as it would be a sign of weakness to them and thus taken as a challenge. (Fair warning to any men who might be browsing).

    Geography
Due to a nomadic past, the environment is the last thing Yaim Rusur concerns itself with, as making everyone settle in one place is more important and the people do not require crops to live as much, and thus the landscape is fairly barren with a few rainforests which are being removed for mining purposes.

    Foreign Policy
The land of Yaim Rusur attempts to be open to those it trusts, and those it trusts are mostly the nations of the Wintreath region, and will remain loyal to them. Just because Yaim Rusur has a powerful army this does not mean they wish to use it often as losing fellow brothers and sisters is saddening to the community, but when they are threatened, violence is usually the answer.

    Education
Education is fairly standard to that of modern nations, 95% of people are literate in at least 2 languages, typically this includes Mando'a, the native language of Yaim Rusur, and either English, Russian, or Slovak/Czech (depends on school). Physical education is less about sports and more similar to that of basic training, in order to prepare children for their life-long service. Most popular topics in schools and University are Industry, History, and mechanical engineering.

If any other information is wanted I can gladly add

    Government
Socialist nation. Prioritizes equality. Strong dislike of business. Will prioritize welfare over economical gain. Is fairly open and largely controlled by the people.
    Military
Very small, mostly imported. Due to small numbers, guerilla tactics are taught. Not likely to be a strong military ally.
    Own Weapons
CT-13: Mobile defensive turrets. Propulsion: twin diesel engines powering quadriple spiral drive (as seen here: https://i.ytimg.com/vi/RbDe5dEu07I/hqdefault.jpg). 300mm thick half-dome turret, dual 122mm autoloader long guns. Spiral drive angles downward to burrow into soil to hide hull, which holds crew, engine, control systems, and ammunition. Intended for defense. Maximum speed: 20 km/h.

CN "Oguretz" class submarine: Very small submarine, about 15 metres long. Practically unarmoured, nuclear powered scout/ defense vessel. Four torpedo tubes, but crew normally load modified harpoons into them to hunt large fish. The crew consists of five- a navigator, engine specialist, two targeting specialists, and a life support specialist. Has enough torpedoes for two full volleys. Maximum speed: 15 knots.
    Economy
Somewhat strong. Government works a communist economy, so all businesses are government controlled. Most citizen needs are met through government welfare, so the high tax rate is not as bad as it seems.
    People
Fairly standard. Not excessively patriotic. Enjoy their many given freedoms. Blue eye colour more common than average humans. Absolutely love pets, especially mudcrabs (the national animal).
    Geography
Mostly flat terrain with a large amount of clay in the soil. Not well suited for farming. Environment is well taken care of. Not a large amount of forests, resources such as oil, ore, and natural gas are not harvested if it harms the environment.
    Foreign Policy
Due to the Clayian belief that all are to be treated as equally as is possible/reasonable, foreign aid is often given if possible. All countries assumed friendly and peaceful until proven otherwise.
    Education
Prioritized. Mathematics and sciences are considered most important. Higher education (i.e. college and university) is free and strongly encouraged.
    History
Initially a small colony of well trained refugees from regional wars who escaped to the Chekin clay fields that banded together (as the clay fields and surrounding area were thought useless, no country had desire to claim them) to form a small government. As civil wars occurred, the population rose swiftly. As many of the refugees were already skilled in some form of trade, the new country learned how to effectively use the surrounding environment without major damage.

There were no major wars in the recent time, although some Lapoc military members have volunteered as relief forces, and engineers have collaborated with Yaim Rusur to create mechanisms of war.

  • I've fleshed out my political parties, adding a subsection for them under the 'Government' section (even includes a handy excel spreadsheet!). On the to-do list is some fleshing out of the military and major cities and highlighting the diversity between the provinces,  but I'll probably make sure to write an IC post first considering my slow working pace.

Edit: I've also added a flag. As you can probably determine for yourself, I am no vexillologist. :P
