Apparent mass does not equal volume if I'm thinking correctly. The same volume of water should be displaced no matter what. Though it should be nigh unnoticeable inside of an ocean.

But you could have the apparent mass be equivalent to the mass of water that would be displaced by the volume of the ship right?

In which case they could just retreat underwater or something...

Now I am a bit confused. I was under the impression you where going to AvCom, not SHACom. Though I might be mistaken. As for going under water, that might work. So long as you stay there. They will notice you when you emerge.
