All Constitutions require some cosmetic parts that aren't meaty. This is usually done in a preamble, which may state why the region has come together, what its goals are, what the Constitution is meant to do, etc etc. This topic is for the drafting of our Preamble.

Also, this topic is to consider the name of our document...do we want to call it the Constitution of Wintreath, or something else? For example, the former Osiris Constitution was called The Book of the Dead...what route would we like to go there?

What about the Fundamental Laws? In 1906, the Tsar of Russia issued the Fundamental Laws which served in effect as a Constitution. They removed his absolutist autocratic power and created a two-tiered parliamentary system whose approval was required to enact laws. That's pretty much what we're doing. And it sounds cool.

So for the Preamble I was thinking...

"We, the citizens of Wintreath, being fully resolved to declare Wintreath as a Free and independent Region, do hereby declare these Fundamental Laws of Wintreath, which may guide us and our successors"

   For the Preambles

   We the citizens, Riksrad, and King of Wintreath in order to allow our Region to be free from tyranny, political censorship, and to protect other regions of Nation States, hereby create and establish the Region Wintreath's Constitution. 

Both of them are based on the US Constitiution, the first one more so than the second one.Wording can be changed if needed.

Considering there are a few people here who are still a part of Spiritus, myself included, I'm not a fan of this part. Personally I prefer Denth's idea; short, sweet, and to the point.

To be honest, That part can be ommitted, however I felt like adding an allusion to how Wintreath was created. However again I can edit that.

I do agree with Toms. Wuufu, Myself, Reon, Toms, Charax, Insenjar, Horse, Saeturn Valerius, and Ceardia are all Spiritans. Sorry if I'm forgetting anyone

Meh, I didn't mean to cause any offense. However I feel there should be some allusion as to how, and why, Wintreath was created. However that line can be omitted or changed.

How about something along the lines of:

"The people and nations of Wintreath, resolved to create an alliance to strengthen liberty, democracy, independence and peace in a spirit of solidarity and openness towards the world of NationStates, determined to live together with mutual consideration and utmost respect for diversity and conscious of their achievements and responsability towards its future generations, adopt the following Fundamental Laws..."

It's based on the Swiss Federal Constitution preamble. However, I like Denth's idea, if we're going for something shorter.
