Government: Nominations for Thane Elections Open
Nominations for inaugural Thane (Vice-Minister) elections are open until Monday, January 1st. Positions that will be voted on include the Thane of Roleplay (Culture), Thane of Werewolf (Culture), LGBTQ Thane (Culture), Thane of Gaming (Culture), and Thane of Embassy Dispatches (Foreign Affairs). After nominations close, candidates will be vetted, and then elections will begin on Wednesday, January 3rd. For more information on the positions, the candidates, and the campaigns, or to stand for election as a Citizen, check out the link below:

Signups for our 7th game of Spyfall are open on the forums! Spyfall is a game of asking questions and providing answers about the game location to root out the spy among them (who is the only player that doesn't know the location). It's a fun game that doesn't take much time to play and is open to non-Citizens! All that's needed is a forum account.
This session of Spyfall will be hosted by Kane lives (Command and Conquer Players), an up-and-coming Citizen who volunteered to provide for a fun game of Spyfall for the community! If you're interested in learning more about the game or signing up, check out the link below:

Government: Nominations for Thane Elections Open

UPDATED! - Government: Nominations for Thane Elections Closed
Nominations for inaugural Thane elections have just closed, with at least one candidate standing for election in four out of five of the open positions. Candidates who stood include Ashton Mercer (Thalasus) and Aragonn (Nighthawk Aragonn) for Thane of Roleplay, Laurentus and Pengu for Thane of Werewolf, Mariam (Yevraziyskaya Rus) for Thane of the LGBTQ Community, and Gattoartico (Gattoartico) for Thane of Gaming. Candidates will now be vetted by the leaders of the Ministry over each Thane position, and if there are any positions with multiple approved candidates elections will begin on January 3rd. UPDATED - Government: Thane Election Results
At the end of the vetting period, several candidates for Thane elections failed to meet the requirement to create a campaign answering several questions to prove their qualifications, resulting in only one vetted candidate for most positions and making actual elections unnecessary. In spite of the lack of elections, the process resulted in several new promising thanes who will serve for the remainder of the term that ends at the end of February. The thane positions as they stand now are:
Ministry of Culture
Thane of Gaming: Gattoartico (Gattoartico)
Thane of LGBTQ Community: Mariam (Yevraziyskaya Rus)
Thane of Roleplay: Vacant
Thane of Werewolf: Laurentus (no nation)
Ministry of Foreign Affairs
Thane of Embassy Dispatches: Vacant

Yarn Fest II is a contest hosted by Lands End to determine which nation can write the best yarn! The contest will run through January 17th, during which you can write and submit an original story revolving around the theme of winter. Submissions will be judged based on entertainment value, creativity, and grammar, with the scores and winners announced after the contest ends. The last contest was won by our very own Elbbsas (Pogglind), and it would be excellent if one of our members won again! NEW! - Government: Underhusen Establishes Discord Presence[/u]
Over the weekend two channels on the Discord chat server were established at the request of the Underhusen, one for Underhusen members to discuss business with each other, and one for Citizens to discuss matters the Underhusen is considering. Since its creation the Citizens channel has been used to discuss the proposal to amended the Definition of Public Act. You can check these and all our Discord Channels at the link below!

NEW! - Government: Doc Announced as Thane of Roleplay
Doc (French Albania) was recently announced as the new Thane of Roleplay, filling a vacancy left by the recent thane election when neither candidate who ran met the requirement of posting a campaign. In a reply in-topic, Doc stated an intention to "get RP back up to speed, and re-establish it as one of the pillars of our community". His term will run through the end of the next thane election in March.

Government: Underhusen Passes Amendment to "Definition of Public Act"[/u]
The Underhusen is passed the Amendment to the Definition of Public Act by 5-0. The Amendment updates the example public spaces provided to include the regional Discord, which became an official property back in October. The Amendment now goes to the Overhusen for consideration.
