So....Let's get right into it then.....Ummm....I've never done this before.....ok I'm just going to wing it....
NewUnitedKingdom!
New United Kingdom is a region that grew out of the ashes of 'The New United Kingdom', a once bustling region which was brought to ruin by its founder, a guy called Lord Carlisle, who broke the rules of the Constitution and banjected almost all the population.
So, a bunch of refugees set up New United Kingdom as a successor region. We are currently aiming to grow. We have a quite active population on the RMB, and a small, but incredibly active forum population. Our Monarch is His Majesty King Edward X, and our current(and first!) Prime Minister is Prime Minister Lucas Mountbatten-Spencer, of the Conservative Progressive Party.
So, on the whole, our region operates very similarly to the real life UK. We have a Constitutional Monarchy, the House of Commons and the House of Lords, and a few families that basically control the region. We are trying to build an active RP scene, and we have a wealth of forum games.
In this space, I will post updates of the region, and perhaps features regarding sections of the region, so that all you Wintreathians can get a better understanding of the region.
I hope that this is the start of a great relationship between our two regions. See 'ya around!

I'm curious, do you have a lot of people that are part of multiple regions? I've noticed that Mountbatten is a fairly common name in some of the imperialist/independent regions.

Yes, many of our most important members(the King, the Prime Minister) have second nations in other regions. And as for the Mountbattens, they are all related, believe it or not. The House of Mountbatten has members in high-up positions throughout NS, especially in UK-themed regions.

Which leads me to another curiousity...why New United Kingdom? There's a lot of UK-themed regions out there, you know.

Well, I think in the old region, 'The New United Kingdom', it was a kind of RP where the UK had fallen and was being rebuilt, but I'm not sure as I wasn't there long before Carlisle wrecked the place.
And we just wanted to keep the region as similar as possible so we got the closest name we could.

Yup, the full story goes like this:
Carlisle founded the region, he was pretty chill, he was King for a bit, everyone was happy, although he did keep a pretty tight reign on the region. Then, he went inactive for a good few months. The region kept going without him, set up a Constitution, and made a lot of progress without him. Then, he returns about 2 months ago, throws a tantrum, and forces the then King and Prime Minister to abdicate. A bunch of people get angry at him, including myself. He starts banjecting everyone, and many more people leave, realising that they can do nothing to fight him. Many people join the new region, and life goes on. We're trying to regrow now. But the sad thing is that Carlisle has left the old region, leaving it to collect dust with only 60-or so nations, who are CTE-Ing like flies. Also, nobody can access the old forums, Carlisle banned everyone's accounts and there's nobody to mask new accounts. Oh, well, that's life.

I apologise for my lack of activity, I have been away. Sooner or later, the NUK Foreign Office will start providing regular Regional Updates, so you have that to look forward to! For the time being, I'll just give my own personal take on events.
In other news, the NUK is ticking along quite nicely. We're in our second term of Parliament, and two of the opposition parties have merged, to form one party which could be challenging the ruling Conservative Progressive Party. Exciting stuff!
A few of our members have been away on various trips, including Yours Truly, and our Monarch, King Edward. Everyone seems to be coming back now, though.
We're gearing up towards a recruitment drive, and so expect us to grow, I hope!
We're also starting a new RolePlay, based on the Avenger's. We hope that this will last a bit longer than our first attempt at an RP, which kind of failed...
That's all that I can think of for now, and I promise I'll get more involved in Wintreath again. I look forward to posting again, with what should be the NUK's first official Foreign Update.

Just went on holiday to a lovely beach resort. It was really nice, aside from the slow wifi that kept me from NationStates.

OK, just to keep you guys updated, there should be an official Foreign Update coming out by the end of this week, I hope.
In other news, I've been made Home Secretary, so that's great for me :). I look forward to getting some recruitment APIs up and running, although I've never done that before, so it is rather daunting. I'll do my best :P .
I'll be sure to post the Foriegn Update as soon as it is released!

API recruiting is fairly simple, and there's plenty of guides out there (whether for NS++ or another program). Shouldn't be too difficult to figure out. :)

But good luck competing with a hundred other regions that do API recruitment. Manual or stamps are where it's at. :P

API recruiting isn't too hard; this guide (https://forum.nationstates.net/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=350586) is really all you need. NationStates++ generally works well enough, though if you don't have access to the Founder/Delegate to set you up as a recruitment officer (or if NS++ is broken as it sometimes is), I've found that pyNSrecruit works quite well too.

Narrative from the NUK
Rise Like A Phoenix
While you may have heard of The New United Kingdom, you might not have heard about our sobering origin story. Following the rise of an authoritarian dictator by the name of Lord Carlisle, a multitude of our region's key citizens fled, resulting in the founding of New United Kingdom in its current form. While the old TNUK is no more, NUK is a growing region with a dedicated and dynamic citizenry that's both proud of their history, and excited for the future.
Got That Government Tho
The NUK Parliament is currently in its second term, both of which have seen the Conservative Progressives, the oldest party in the NUK, form a Government with The Rt. Hon. Lucas-Spencer Wessex at its Prime Minister. However, in recent weeks the rival British Royalist Party has been formed out of other smaller parties, and quickly gained prominence, as the first party to provide significant opposition to the CPP in terms of size and influence, and even defeating the governing party in a recent by-election. In its entirety, Parliament consists of Cello Snow-Donald (CPP), Lucas Spencer-Wessex (CPP), Kasimir Devereaux (BRP), Charles Watson-Turing-Donald (CPP), and Connor Williams Devereaux (BRP) in the House of Commons, and Prince Cobi Wessex, Lord John Donald, and Lord George Mountbatten in the House of Lords. That being said, a general election is due at the end of this month, and it's likely to be the most closely contested in NUK's short history.
Beyond Parliament, the King's Bench (or Supreme Court) of the NUK consists of Lady Chief Justice Arynnia I, and the more recently appointed Hon. George Windsor as Senior Associate.
And of course, the Monarchy of the New United Kingdom is headed by our very own HM King Edward X of the House of Windsor-Astoria.
A Truly Marvel-ous Culture Scene
The New United Kingdom is home to a multitude of cultural initiatives, whether they be Government-supported, such as our Avengers Roleplay or impending BritAwards, or citizen-managed, like The Grenadier pub and inn or the wild parties our citizens have developed an affinity for. In addition, multiple media networks provide content to NUK audiences, including the British Broadcasting Corporation and Everyday Productions.
What About The People?
The New United Kingdom has a very diverse population, including citizens with years experience to those brand new to NationStates, as well as both those who come from Houses of Nobility and commoners that form their own. Specifically, the NUK has a notable group of citizens from the House of Mountbatten (particularly the Wessex branch), the House of Devereaux, our Royal Family's House of Windsor-Astoria, and even the NUK-original House of Donald.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I am pleased to announce that I have, along with several other NUK citizens, converted to the one true faith, the Church of the Holy Potato. This was thanks to His Starchiness, Crushita the Potato Pope, answering my call for volunteers to help set up the API (it's working great, by the way). Crushita decided to stay on as a Citizen, and he acted as a Missionary for the Faith.
I'm glad I converted! I have seen the light! Among my previous journeys through the Frozen Land of Wintreath, I considered vegetable-worshippers as savages, I'm sorry to say. However, I am now one myself!
