Greetings! This topic is for questions/discussions and sign-ups for the position of ambassador. You can find some basic information about the position further in this post, and if you have any questions or wish to sign-up as an ambassador to another region, just post here and we will reply to you as soon as possible!

What is an ambassador? What do they do?
Ambassadors serve as part of our diplomatic corp and represent Wintreath to other regions and organizations. To do this, they join the off-site forums of the regions or organizations that they're assigned to and ensure that our embassy is created on there. From there, they post editions of our foreign dispatch and any other messages that need to be sent, check for discussions or mentions of Wintreath, and pass back any information or happenings that seem relevant to us.

What are the requirements to apply as an ambassador?
To carry out the responsibilities successfully, ambassadors need to be moderately active and somewhat experienced with how regional forums work, and thus to apply you must have at least 100 forum posts and have been a Citizen for over 1 month. One ambassador can have more than one regions assigned to them upon request, but priority will be given based on our diplomatic needs and then to those with fewer regions if an opening comes up.

Are there any current openings for ambassador?

Currently open postings are International Northwestern Union, British Isles, the Founderless Regions Alliance, and The West Pacific. Ambassadors to the FRA should be defender or gameplay-neutral, but there are no restrictions on the other assignments.

I think we need to cap the number of appointments so everyone who has interest to be an ambassador can have a chance to serve. I am sure I am not the only one whonhas expressed interest in serving as an ambassador.

Unfortunately, I have had to remove Pengu and Colberius X as ambassadors due to not posting the last several dispatches in their embassies (and loss of Citizenship in Colberius's case). That means the following regions are open:

The North Pacific
10000 Islands
International Northwestern Union
The Allied States
Osiris

Additionally, Chanku has indicated to me that he wishes to resign, but will cover his regions until replacements are found...that opens up these additional regions:

Renegade Islands Alliance
The South Pacific
The East Pacific

There are many others who have been here longer than me, but perhaps if they were going to take the remaining ambassador positions, they would have done so already? I've been here a short time compared to the others. Seems to be going well, I like it, and I don't have any reason to believe anyone doesn't like me, but I've only barely been here long enough that someone might see one of my posts and think "Hey, didn't that person post once or twice before?". Until I've been here a lot longer, knowing that I have wandered between many regions over my years on NationStates, I acknowledge that I haven't given anyone a good guarantee that I won't just wander off again in a week. I don't intend to wander off soon, but I can't prove that. So the question is, is it important enough to find someone for the ambassador positions that someone who is relatively new and almost completely unknown here can be trusted to do it?
If yes, I don't care for Osiris, but would find it funny as an Irish-American to be the ambassador to Kingdom of Scotland, and possibly one of the other small regions.

You've been very active in the community lately, and I think you've gone to great lengths to share who you are with us...I'd hardly say you're almost completely unknown, or that you shouldn't be trusted.

If you want to serve as ambassador, just take your pick of region or regions you want to be assigned to. :)

I know that Chanku would very much like to ease his burden so I decided that I'd take one of his chargéships.

I am unable to take up any ambassadorial duties for The West Pacific as I am banned from their Discord and thus cannot fulfill my mandate there, so it'll remain open.

@Wintermoot @Chanku if there is anything I'm doing incorrectly please let me know. This is all a learning experience :)
I use the term "chargéship" to mean any temporary ambassadorship that is technically up for grabs, if that confused anybody.
